Very safe, quiet community! The maintenance team are quick to make any repairs and do it with a smile! The office team are always eager to help with anything including finding packages, checking mail, keeping an eye on things when you’re away for a weekend, etc! As a single mom, it’s been a perfect home for almost 7 years now! I know once I’m ready to buy a house this summer, they’ll be supportive and help in anyway they can with that transition as well! Highly recommend!

When I encountered a difficult personal situation, Krista and Kyle were incredibly accommodating and understanding. They went out of their way for me, showing so much empathy and support during a very challenging time. Krista and Kyle are genuinely good people. about their tenants and their wellbeing. Beyond the remarkable staff, the property itself is beautifully maintained, with spacious rooms, modern appliances, huge balconies, and great amenities. The community is also pet-friendly, which added to the positive living experience. Glen Oaks East Apartments is just a fantastic place to live, made even better by Krista and Kyle’s exceptional care and understanding. Okay price aside, this place is a gem. My roommate and I were recent graduates in 2023 and were relatively new to apartment hunting. Before living here, the search for an apartment was full of firsts, and we were very cautious about what we wanted. The thought of finding everything that we wanted was a dream. That is until we visited Glen Oaks for the first time and met Kyle and his team.
Immediately we were welcomed with open arms and even though we were on edge he made sure to level with us ...
and disperse our doubts immediately. He was a friendly face that went beyond surface niceties. They assured us that this was a place we could call home and it was.
When I say that it was and is night perfect, I mean it. It's a quiet community with a very homey atmosphere, especially during the winter. The decor of the apartments is modern and they allow you the freedom to customize as you choose. We had zero noise complaints, keeping in mind that there were pets in the complex. Most importantly, the staff, led by Kristie and Kyle. There's a reason Glen Oaks is the way it is.
For them, this place is precious, the community especially. They pride themselves on serving the community as best as they can, because of the passion they have for the place. So you can bet your pants that this place is loved and cared for, unlike places where it's just a business.
I should also mention that the repairs and maintenance are timely and the amenities are good--minus the gym, the gym should be bigger. :) You can also have pets, but restrictions are applied. And there is a moving discount for people who work at certain places, so make use of that if you choose to move here.
Even though we don't live there anymore, I'd still encourage you to come over and find out for yourselves how good this place is. I assure you that you will have a pleasant experience here.

I cannot say enough good things about Kyle, Krista, Mark and Glen Oaks East overall. Their team is a small but mighty one and they had my back from the beginning - starting with them going above and beyond to combat extenuating circumstances to find a way for me to live here. As a female looking for a place to live in Grand Rapids, my safety and comfortability was important to me, and they made it important to them too. This place felt like home from the first tour with Kyle and I can't imagine ...
having a more positive experience living somewhere. It also should be noted that in the year I lived at Glen Oaks I did not have to place a single maintenace request. I've never lived anywhere (and I've rented places in Grand Rapids for the last 4 years) that I haven't had to deal with multiple things breaking or leaking or having issues with and I did not have a single one here - although I know if I did, Mark would have come by immediately and fixed for me. My only complaint is my time living here went by too quickly! If you chose to live at Glen Oaks, you'll have a group of people that actually care about you and making it a great experience from start to finish.

Upon moving in, I was very surprised how spacious each room was, clean, bright, and nicely painted with fresh paint and updated cabinets, countertops and lighting fixtures. This place is way better than I thought when I walked through it (twice) and we are so happy in our new home. Location couldn't be more perfect - it's private and secluded and very pretty, yet very close to everything. We love it!

Glen Oaks East Apartments are some of the nicest units my fiancé and I checked out! They are are located just outside of downtown GR near Forest Hills. The area is safe, all the units have been newly renovated, and the price is great! We had the pleasure of working with Kyle and Krysta and they are phenomenal. Both of them treated us like family and were always available to answer any thoughts or questions we had during the whole process. I would highly recommend Glen Oaks to anyone!

My Fiancé and I were going to try to live here- and we filled out the application and everything. When it was time to pay the application fee- there a charge on there for $150 for "Redecorating fee" No thanks.

The rent is expensive but well worth the money. I was 15 minutes for downtown GR and close to all other type of entertainment. You get the most square footage for the money and the staff is friendly and helpful. I lived there for two years and would have continued to live there is I didn't have a job opportunity.

I have lived in several different apartment complexes throughout my life; attending college and moving for my job. This has been the worst experience I have ever had.
The community is nice and the neighbors were awesome but the way that the property was managed was very upsetting. Make sure to have a plan if you move here.
Here is why:
We started out by signing a 15 month lease; we’ll call the first rent payment “$X.” It was a reasonable price, something that we could work with. During this ...
time we were looking for a house and weren’t having much luck.
We didn’t want to sign another 15 month lease in case we would have to break it. So the best offer that Glen Oaks gave us was “$X” 16% for 7 months. I have never experienced such a large increase from an original lease in my life.
Then after the 7 months we found a house and did not want to pay two rent payments to break a lease so we asked if we could go month to month. We were cornered and the best that they could do for us was X 185%....they knew that we were stuck and DID NOT want to work with us. We were paying more than you would be paying if you got a flat downtown.
This didn’t just happen to us; I spoke with a few of my neighbors and they said the same thing. If you decide to move here MAKE SURE TO HAVE AN EXIT PLAN, or they will get you.

Brendon in the rental office was very nice and thus far the staff has been very friendly and responsive.
