Better Than Expected!

Horrible experience. Not a luxury apartment at all!
February 27, 2026We moved in around May 2025 and upon moving in nothing had been fixed up like they said would be done before we even moved in. Tub drain is rusty and disgusting, so baths are out of the question (shower only), there is a broken window in the bedroom upstairs that was assured to us would be fixed BEFORE we moved in and to this day, we still can't get anyone out to fix it. Maintenance says it's not something they do so they check the ticket as complete and we're still left with that cracked window. ...Took forever to get someone to clean out the gutters so every time it rained we were getting soaked coming in and out of our apartment with filthy gutter water. A phrase you hear often is "that's not in our budget' which is crazy given the price we pay in rent--but what's even more crazy is the fee situation. You get put into the rent plus program upon coming in which is a extra 9 dollars, they charge you multiple utilities fees and water fee BUT you don't get any of that through them. Crazy I'm paying Duke and Durham for my utilities and water AND an apartment place that doesn't provide that in the rent. So why are we paying those fees with Haven? We regret signing our lease every day and this experience has just been miserable from start to finish. The original ladies that were in the office when we signed convinced us to sign a longer lease 'cause it would be cheaper for the luxury apartment' but all that did was get us stuck at Haven in misery. Even though you have a grace period to pay rent (5 days) they stick a lovely little note on your door after the first day rent is due basically threatening to kick you out and take you to court as if the grace period means nothing which only stresses you out. The floors are cheap fake wood so cleaning them is a pain. We were moved into an apartment that was dirty on the outside. Webs everywhere on the windows leaving us to clean them if we wanted to open the window for fresh air, gutters full, old, rusted on the bottom. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HAVEN TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR AN APARTMENT. The only parts that look luxury are the leasing office (go figure), the common area where they host community events (how that's in the budget but getting stuff right for the tenants livigng space is beyond me), and the pool and gym area.Property Manager Responded

To also provide some clarification regarding a few of the items mentioned: rent demands are issued early because they provide a 30-day period for payment. Rent is considered late after the 1st of the month, and a late fee begins to accrue on the 6th if payment has not been received. Horrible customer service
June 25, 2024Upon arriving on to the property I noticed a huge and rather disgusting pile of trash spilling out of the garage, old furniture and a plethora of boxes. I found that to be insane giving that you must pay a $37 trash fee each month. Also the staff aren't pleasant or welcoming. Lady that gave me the tour was very standoffish, and made me feel as if I was bothering her by my presence. She didn't offer or even bother to show me any of the amenities. Didn't properly invite me in her office for my ...scheduled tour. She proceeded to talk to me while she was sitting in her office and I was standing in the middle of the lobby. She literally only took me to the model apartment and stood at the front door the whole time. I traveled from out state for a day and was excited to view this apartment specifically as it was #1 on my list, was even prepared to apply and pay months in advance the day of my SCHEDULED tour because I loved the actual apartment and the layout however, the trash and the lack of professionalism and hospitality I will be continuing my search. January 7, 2021I’ve lived here two complete years. First year great no complaints good location good customer service . Since then your now charged to receive packages late fees after 3 days which is worst the the USPS . Mandatory basic cable since pandemic of 89.00 not even a discounted rate they must be getting a kick back. The garbage area used to be well maintained it’s been two weeks or more and cardboard box and recycling area is horrific holiday has passed yet you pay 30.00 for garbage pick up.. If you ...wanted / needed to place your garbage you can’t because you can’t get to it! Heating system is old doesn’t maintain heat in apartment well. The floors are too thin here!!
August 5, 2018I've been here 3 weeks. I stay on the 2nd floor and I hear every move the guy over top of me makes, sometimes it sounds really loud like he is stomping or something. I kinda wish I would have kept my old apartment because I could sleep late on weekends n didn't hear every move the person made over me. Do not return phone calls
February 3, 2018During the month of January, we had a snow storm. We had at least 8 inches of snow. No one from management or maintenance came to clear the sidewalks or put sand down to help with traction until after the fourth or fifth day. By then,majority of the snow was melted or it was soft enough for anyone to walk on without risking falling. I called maintenance about the issue on a Saturday to ask when they were going to try to clear the sidewalks because it was nothing but a sheet of solid ice. He said, ...they won’t do anything until Monday because they don’t work on Saturday unless it was an emergency and a sidewalk full of ice and snow isn’t considered an emergency. Thankfully a friend of mine who doesn’t even live out here came with his shovel to clear a path for us and others to walk. I called about my concern on that Monday to speak to management so I’ll know how to be prepared for future snow or ice storms and no one has returned my call and it’s been at least 3 weeks since then. When Ticon properties and other management companies who were managing before this BH Management came they were proactive about treating the sidewalks when we had snow and ice.Property Manager Responded

Disrespectful Employee!
October 3, 2017There's an leasing consultant name Angela VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL!! If you call the office to speak to mgr she never gives message or talk so rudely to you. Called the office to ask about Pool & Gym hours. All she says is I(she) don't know. Trash runs over constantly! Lawn care hasn't been cut for several months. New Management no newsletter letting you know who's the Mgr. Angela needs to have better customer service. She's an employee who lived on property for a short time. Packed all her ...stuff & moved back to Garner. Told another resident she wouldn't live here only work. When a residence wants to move before lease is up there's a lease termination fee! Pathetic Excuse of Managment
July 5, 2017For the past year and 10 months there has been awful management attention to repairs needed in my apartment. To this day there are repairs that have not been fixed since first reported in the first 4 months of living in the complex. Management incorrectly charges for rent (already has happened 3 times) and was only corrected after extensive proof and conversations with everyone in the office which tended to go in circles.
