Huge Mistake

Since I moved in this summer I’ve had to call 4 times over cockroaches and they only disappeared one I handled it myself. The gym was also closed for 2 months because they couldn’t be bothered to fix the lock on the door. Public laundry was broken for almost a month because the pay machines were glitched. There is constant construction which takes up way too much parking, I’m talking like 50 spaces at one point. And no the construction is not to make the place better. Since it’s started they’ve ...

cut down many trees, HALF a tennis court which looks as great as you think it would, the list goes on. I am constantly reminded that I live in the worst managed apartment complex in Greenville, SC.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are currently working on the property, including painting the exterior. The tennis court is being converted into a pickle ball court and we are installing a new grilling and seating area. Unfortunately we have had some delays due to weather and other issues. We try to keep the parking spaces as open as possible, with multiple work crews moving around during the day it can seem like a lot, especially with the machinery to make these changes. The trees have been removed from the property only if we had no way to save them. Since I have arrived at this property I have strived to remedy situations as quickly as possible. The Haywood is not just work, it is also my home. If you need anything, please reach out to us in the office.

This place is the worst place to live!!!!! DO NOT! I was fooled by the hundreds of bots they pay to leave good reviews when this place is actually the worst place in America to live. I have lived in college housing with BAT INFESTATIONS, DEAD BIRDS, SPIDER NESTS and THIS PLACE takes the cake of being the WORST! Not only are the front office and maintenance the rudest people I've met in my life (besides one lovely young maintenance man) but management has no idea what they're doing. They have no ...

remorse for the conditions you're living in and have the attitude of "out of sight out of mind". They send pest control bi-weekly if you request it enough times but somehow despite the "treatments", you will STILL see live roaches all across your apartment (we moved in JANUARY BTW). We had to go there everyday to tell them their apartments were INFESTED with not only just bugs, but ROACHES. Save your money, time, and mental wellbeing and sign somewhere else. You will be living with LIVE roaches and no one will care and act like you're the one insane. "It's just palmetto bugs".... also known as the American Roach. The entire complex is infested. The worst people I've ever had to deal with in my entire life and the worst living conditions. We put in a request to break our lease since we would see a live roach EVERYDAY and they started ignoring our calls and emails, but 2 DAYS before the requested date to break our lease they FINALLY answered after I wrote them with proof of live bugs in the apartment and told us our request had been granted and we needed to be out in 2 days. When we said we hadn't heard from them and can't get out of there by then they told us we only had 2 weeks to find somewhere new to live and get all of our stuff out in order to break our lease. They act like this is an issue you'll deal with everywhere in the South, in reality you won't have to deal with roaches anywhere if the staff treats it. I could write a novel about how this is the worst place to live. Just save yourself from it.

110% NOT Pet friendly. Will kick you out if another tenant decides not to listen to your warnings about a dog your fostering. And even with video proof showing that tenant proposly not listening to the other tenants warnings. So unless you want to live here with the chance of getting kicked out in 48 hrs. Have fun living here.

Rodents in the attic

Terrible!!! I have noticed rodents in the attic, which I get that can happen sometimes, but management has not taken my complaints seriously! It has been over 2 weeks and they have done nothing to fix it, not to mention it is a fire hazard...

Hawthorne at the Park is a fabulous combination of location, amenities, and affordability. Lori, Kaitlin, & Victoria at the front office are extremely professional and customer-service oriented in giving their time and expertise to make sure guests/cats/dogs are happy! Hawthorne staff makes me feel valued as a resident and goes the extra mile in maintaining the apartments, responding to requests, and generally being on the ball. Especially love the complex gym & free car wash/vacuum station!

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! We are very clean people and we have been infested with cockroaches, spiders, ants, and MICE!!! Literally have mice in the apartment and the pest control does nothing. I hear animals scratching trying to get through our ceiling and management doesn't care. They say it's on the roof but it is definitely under the roof right above the sheet rock. I have videos to prove it. Just hoping we get out of here before one breaks into the apartment, it has been getting louder each day. ...

I am just trying to warn anyone from moving in as we move out ASAP. Do NOT sign a lease for apartment 135, not worth the money. We are going to wind up paying for the last 2 months and we won't even be living here because we cannot take it anymore. Imagine trying to eat dinner while an animal is scratching over your head. Or waking up to mouse poop all over your kitchen counters. Also, there is a nursing home next door and I get woken up during the night to an extremely loud noise of them emptying the dumpster. Like SO loud. Hope I save someone from coming here and spend your money at a newer more cleanly apartment complex.

I would NOT recommend this apartment complex. We had a terrible roach experience while living here. We had to contact the office multiple times for them to come and spray. They completely SOAKED the inside of our cabinets a few of those times. We literally had to wipe the excess liquid out with paper towels. I'm not sure what type of spray they were using, but it did not work. We had to hire Orkin to come out and finally got rid of the roaches. Another huge disappointment with Hawthorne was once ...

we moved out, they charged us $1600 for carpet replacement! For a two bedroom apartment? That was definitely not a legit price
