Dirty, smelly ,outdated place to live

November 15, 2025Nothing good to say about this place, drafty windows probably have never ever been replaced since they put them new when this place was built causing super high electricity bills, management never turn the make up air in the hallways, hallways are freezing cold in winter, or hot in summer, hallways smell horrible and dirty , They charge you a lot for trash valet that most people never use , dumpsters are 50ft away from your building and you are forced to pay for someone to come pick up the ...garbage, this is ridiculous, I don’t recommend this place at all and I’m sure all those 5 star reviews are fake from friends.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Awful apartments , disrespectful staff

Rachel and Hailey are Rude
August 12, 2025I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Hidden Valley Club Apartments has been frustrating enough to warn others. From the beginning, communication with the staff has been a nightmare. In particular, Rachel and Hailey have consistently been rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Any time I had a question or concern, I was met with attitude rather than assistance. Maintenance issues go unresolved for far too long, and when you try to follow up, you’re either ignored or treated like you’re ...inconveniencing them, they rather just hang in the office with Rachel and Hailey The units themselves are outdated, and the amenities they advertise are either poorly maintained or simply not functional. For the price, you can absolutely find a better-managed, more respectful community elsewhere. Living here has been a constant source of stress. Pretty Decent Place to stay
June 13, 2025I’ve really enjoyed living at Hidden Valley Apartments. The location is extremely convenient—close to all essential amenities and just a short driving distance from the University of Michigan. The property manager, Rachel, is very proactive and responsive, and maintenance requests are handled quickly. I’ve had no complaints during my stay. The neighbourhood feels safe. Cockroach problem

They try to charge $500 to remove ur name from lease when roommates are renewing
August 8, 2023If you live with roommates and you want to leave after the lease ends, they charge hundreds of dollars to take your name off of the (new) lease. First it was 300, then when complained they basically said now it's 500, pay it or they have to move out.Property Manager Responded

Trowbridge is the worst
February 12, 2022Trowbridge is the worst property management company I’ve ever experienced. Truly awful! Rude office workers who could not care less about their residents once they’ve locked them into a lease. You can never get in contact or get a call back from anyone. This complex is outdated, you throw money out the window with heating/ac because of the terrible windows and insulation, you can hear every step neighbors make above you, you can hear TVs through the floors (because they renovate apartments as ...cheaply as possible and clearly don’t put appropriate insulation underneath the vinyl flooring. You can literally hear when someone drops change or taps their foot above you), and the property manager doesn’t do the bare minimum for resident safety. The amenities are an absolute joke. Except for the pool, which is small but a nice area. They also are trying to mark up rent 14% - 20% at lease renewal this year to long term residents, with absolutely no improvements or reasons to justify this kind of price increase. Save yourself the headache and the constant fear of not being safe in your own home, plus never knowing when they’re going to raise rent astronomically. Not sure how the score for this place is so high on here when the majority of the reviews are negative. Seems strange to me. Trowbridge is worse than McKinley- at least McKinley makes the kind of improvements and amenities to balance out how awful they are. Trowbridge is just plain awful.Property Manager Responded
