Look elsewhere in the neighborhood!
October 3, 2025It's pretty gross living here. People don't pick up after their dogs around the property, and the dumpster is often overflowing. Recently, a dog pooped in my hallway, and it was left there for over 12 hours. The building is impossible to access, especially for delivery drivers. Delivery drivers often give up accessing the building and will leave your packages anywhere. The parking spaces are so tightly packed, you barely have room to open your door. You also better hope you win the neighbor ...lottery. My neighbors fight, loudly and at all hours of the night. I've reported them multiple times to the leasing office; they even called the cops on them. However, they accepted their renewal application, even after telling me they were moving out.Property Manager Responded

March 17, 2025WATERTON IS THE WORST MANAGEMENT COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS AT ALL. DO NOT MOVE HERE if you plan on living here. I would rate this place a 0 if I could. You will be paying luxury apartment prices to live in apartments that are less kept up than the apartments that are in the ghetto. Steer far clear of the Mills
December 22, 2022If I could give this complex a zero, I would. I was so excited about this apartment, I loved the industrial feel and how open it felt. But that ended up being the only positive of living there. On more than five occasions, I complained to management regarding issues with a neighbor and the dog they left alone in the apartment for hours, barking. The walls were paper thin and I could hear everything happening. Nothing was ever done and I finally contacted the regional rep to complain. After some ...discussion, it was determined I would be released from my lease and would only have to pay a prorated rate for the 6 days I was residing within the apartment. I was to be given a final statement and pay within the portal. This was never received, and I was told management had turned over in the time the lease had been canceled and instead of following up with me or sending me a bill, what I "owed" was sent to collections. I've called on over (9) occasions to rectify the situation, and I've never received ANY help or clear cut answers as to why my prorated bill was never sent to me directly or why I cannot pay the Mills directly. SEVEN MONTHS LATER and I've received a major derogatory mark on my credit score, with the amount owed being an entire months rent (which is incorrect) and still NO movement from management about how the situation can be rectified. Management here has never been receptive to complaints, nor can they be trusted with early lease terminations. Steer far clear of the Mills, there are far better communities in the area that have more receptive management and will make sure you feel safe in your home.Property Manager Responded

Cool looking apartment in a trendy area... And a pile of annoyance.
April 29, 2019I wanted to give one star so badly. The only thing keeping me from that is that it delivers on the promise of an apartment with cool style in a trendy part of town. It's walkable to plenty of cool restaurants. Those are the only positive notes I can give. The layout of the unit makes no sense. Whoever designed it forgot added a bathroom as an afterthought. I am not a large person and I barely fit in the shower. The kitchen is a similar story... It's not actually an area, just the back wall of ...the front room. The build quality is hilariously bad - at least it would be if I were capable of laughing after being woken up in the middle of the night, after stubbing my toe on one of the giant cracks in the concrete floor, or fumbling through the dark to reset the breaker because the wiring in the closet shorts when you turn the light off, or when the wind blows the front door open because it actually does not latch. The apartment itself is dirty - none of the walls extend to the ceiling inside the apartment, so the bathroom is actually a little pod with a roof over it. You cant get up there to clean so it's filthy. The cracks in the floor are impossible to clean. There's a French fry jammed in one of ours that's been there since before we moved in. Disgusting. The neighborhood isn't great. You'll be catcalled by the construction crews that practically live there and I wouldn't recommend leaving your bike outside - mine was stolen from the bike rack just 10 meters from the leasing office. They had nothing to say besides "oh I'm so sorry that happened to you." Don't even get me started on the leasing office. They only fix problems that don't exist like putting locks on communal areas that no one used except to take your trash to the dumpster or pick up (already locked up) packages. So now you have to try and type in a code while balancing your trash The final straw just happened today when they said they'd start enforcing parking. "Finally" I thought. But they only let us know when we walked into the leasing office to pick up our parking passes that it would be one car per bedroom. If we so desired we could purchase a second pass for only $50 a month! This is the last straw. If we could leave today we would - plenty of others have. We've had 3 neighbors in the 9 months we lived here. If the only thing you want is an apartment in NoDa with a cool style in an renovated historic mill...
