Worst living experience
September 25, 2024I was super excited to move here! My first night my car was towed. The gates are broken 24/7. There is dog poop and garbage everywhere. The management and staff are lazy and mean. I won’t be shocked if they increase our rent.Review from Apartments.com
Don't move here
October 21, 2023The property is filthy. Expect to see trash everywhere. Everything is broken. Gates have been broken for months. We also have pedestrian gates and they have been broken for months. Cars, garages, and storage units get broken into regularly. Expect to hear dogs barking on patios for hours at a time. Expect to smell smoke in elevators. Expect elevators to be filthy. Take a tour and see for yourself. You literally can see it any day of the week. It's embarrassing.Property Manager Responded

Lack of Communication and Empathy
March 12, 2023Lack of communication, empathy, and attention to detail. This property allowed for my car to be towed twice after they failed to effectively communicate and enter my vehicle information into the system. No one has the time, patience, or the money to just be giving away because someone was too lazy to put my information in the system. This is completely unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately.. definitely would not recommend anyone to live here as the property management team doesn’t ...care about anything but collecting a check. Don’t waste your time. Poor management & so many issues
September 23, 2021I used to love living here when I first moved in. Until my car was broken into, which started a spiral of other issues. My AC has been broken twice so far, with temporary fixes offered each time. I was left in an 85 degree apartment last week for 5 days and told to “figure something out” and that “everyone in Texas is experiencing this”. Management is absolutely awful & doesn’t care about you once you sign your lease. They are rude and offer no valid solution to any problem. Move here if you ...enjoy mold, car break ins, incompetent maintenance employees, and broken air conditioning in Texas heat.Property Manager Responded

Yikes
June 17, 2021Don’t be fooled by the nice new pictures they posted. I absolutely loved living here when I first moved but things have quickly gone downhill. Management is unresponsive and sometimes even rude. I asked about a one bedroom unit in the same building and never got a response. The gates are always open or broken. We have had multiple maintained people come in without request or notice. We only knew because there was a faucet left outside of the door and tools left on our kitchen counter. Again, no ...note or maintained request. As far as the apartment goes, it looks nice from the outside but there are lots of issues. My apartment is permanently coated in dust. It gets better when they change the air filter but is back to being dusty within a couple weeks. The walls are incredibly thin and any step from above or voice is incredibly loud. The highway next to the apartment is also kinda loud sometimes. Good location (except for highway noise) and nice amenities but I definitely would not recommend.Property Manager Responded

I loved it when I started living here, now I’m looking forward to leaving.
February 28, 2021By all means, I am not the type to write bad reviews, I just simply move forward and let bygones be bygones, BUT, I feel the responsibility to let people know about my experience while living here. When we first moved in last august 2020, it was a dream for us and the management at the time was very quick to fix issues and pretty thorough with communication. As time progressed, they changed management (which happens quite often apparently) things started falling apart here. To begin, we’ve always ...had problems with our gate, whether it’s not opening correctly, or it gets jammed and stays open or something, but it would get addressed immediately. Although an inconvenience, it wasn’t so much concerning simply because we could still get into the parking area and we need our fobs to get inside the building. Guess what though, the fob system somehow “malfunctioned” and everyone’s info “got erased”. At least that’s what we were told. So now the locks on the doors and the gates were WIDE OPEN. For at least 3 months. That’s pretty concerning especially when you hear around the community that some vehicles were broken into. That and the fact that ANYONE could’ve walk into our building at any time and we would of been blindsided. Then we’ve been getting a new system for about 2 months now, that has yet to fully work. I will give the office staff some credit in that they did have a security guy hanging out(without letting us know, so I was suspicious as I just saw a man standing in the courtyard) also our community officer made arrangements to keep a squad car on the property so that helped a bit. I can’t just throw blame at one specific person, or even say that the new management team isn’t doing all they can, but what I can say is that this community has been gradually falling and many residents that have been here for years, are now considering leaving. This is a pretty tight knit community and many have talked and many feel the same way. So quite honestly I would not be surprised if MANY vacancies become available soon. Also, many of the amenities do exist, but because of Covid, I haven’t seen them all. Again, that’s no ones fault, it’s simply my experience. We have a ping pong table in the commons area that he existed since the community opened. The TVs in that same commons area somehow disappeared one day(I think they were stolen, again no type of communication on that) I will say that as a community, we love it here. As an all new team, we have worked very hard to learn a new community, new management company and face the challenges like the gate failure and winter ice storm. COVID measures such as closing the amenities for a time were unfortunate but necessary as a community, company and nation as we all joined in socially responsible closures. STAFF and COMMUNITY are PERFECT!
August 14, 2018Emily is super sweet and i love how they provide all these treats and free Starbucks in the office. People are really friendly here and i love giving my dog walks on the trail within the community. Alta is also really close to cox market which makes shopping for groceries really easy. I think the best part is the staff is always asking me what can they do to make ALTA better. They even followed though with my idea of having a BBQ vendor post up by the front office and provide lunch for us after ...work. The vendor brought his GIANT grill and everything not to mention Emily paid for it! Suburbs to the City...
August 14, 2018I've been at Alta for about a year now, and just renewed my lease. I was very hesitant, to relocate to the Dallas area from the comfort of a small town, but the community at Alta Yorktown has reassured me that this was the best decision I could have made. First, off my commute to work, restaurants, bars, mall, etc. is almost non-existant. I feel like I'm central to anything and everything I need. The staff is very accommodating and hosts events every now and then, which has helped me get to know ...my neighbors and make friends... which are more like family, now. Summer nights are topped off, relaxing in the resort style pool, which is always clean and never too crowded. If you're not a dog lover this is not the place for you. There are a lot of dog lovers, green space, a mini dog park, and bathing station our Frenchie and Bulldog to play. I think they enjoy our new lifestyle just as much as I do! Feels like a resort!
August 14, 2018Very beautiful community! Emily, the manager, is super kind and thoughtful. She knows I always get a cup of FREE Starbucks coffee from there office AND she always has it ready for me, knowing I'm in a rush. I feel like I live in a resort! No complex is perfect, but Alta Yorktown is a great place to live
May 24, 2017I've lived at Alta Yorktown for one year and just renewed my lease. It's a solid place to live, in an excellent location, and you get way more for your money than in downtown, uptown, etc. The luxury amenities and appliances are top-notch and there's even a dog park and dog wash stations for the pups. There are pros and cons to every complex, and here's my list on Alta Yorktown: Pros: - Beautiful, well maintained property - Safe, gated community and buildings - Leasing and office staff are ...friendly, it feels like a community - Maintenance requests get addressed in 24 hours - Fun events/mixers are hosted for the complex - even with a keg from Deep Ellum Brewery! - Great views of downtown - Gorgeous, colorful landscaping - As someone new to Dallas, I've become friends with other people who live here Cons: - Parking can be bad if you come home after 9pm - People walk their dog off leash all the time - You can hear your neighbors open/close/slam the doorProperty Manager Responded

An Honest Review
July 28, 2016The Not So Good Stuff: --You may hear your neighbors when: a) they shut their front doors; b) when they play music or the television, especially if the apartment has the Bluetooth wall speakers (there's no insulation behind the wall speakers on the interior wall of the apartment); c) all garage doors directly underneath and adjacent when opened or closed; and d) every footstep the above neighbors make when walking across the floor. --The valet trash service does not always pick up trash on the ...designated days & neighbors will leave their trash in the corridors for up to 2 days. The Good/Not Good Stuff: --The office staff is friendly and professional, but sometimes aren't so good with organization or communication to residents. --The office staff is responsive if there are complaints about dog barking; however, if you are the dog owner, you may not have a positive resolution. --Maintenance responses average about 1-2 days, except for pest control, which may take up to a week. The Good Stuff: --These are brand new apartments with visually appealing designs and new appliances. --Close to downtown Dallas and Bishop Arts/Trinity Groves, which is a bonus if you enjoy these areas. --The maintenance staff is professional.Property Manager Responded
