  • Avoid Renting Here – Honest Experience from a Long-Term Tenant

    I moved into this apartment complex in July 2023 and stayed for two years. Unfortunately, my experience has been overwhelmingly negative. I should have trusted the negative reviews I saw on Google—they were accurate. Management is extremely money-driven. They will overcharge you, especially when it comes time to move out. During my lease, I went two full months without air conditioning during summer, and maintenance never responded in a timely manner. When I withheld rent to try to get them to ...
    address it, they charged me a $600 “reinstatement fee,” followed by another $270 the next month. They credited it back eventually, but the stress wasn’t worth it. Winters aren’t much better. They don’t shovel the snow, leaving residents to fend for themselves. If you’re planning to move out, be warned: they require at least two months’ notice. Otherwise, you may be forced to pay up to three months’ rent just to leave. I gave proper notice and even had maintenance replace the blinds before I moved—because I knew they'd try to deduct 9signing a lease here. I genuinely hope this review helps someone avoid the experience I went through.

  • Completely 100% True and Honest

    The neighbors are very friendly, I've made a few friends here. This place unfortunately doesn't have an active leasing office anymore as of mid-2024. This is inconvenient because it takes a game of phone tag to try to get a hold of someone on the (1-800) number. The maintenance guy is very friendly, will say hi, and will ask how things are going in the apartment. He says he's been here for a couple of years now. So the other reviews about maintenance are not him. I do have a couple of issues ...
    with this place. I do wish they would put either temporary or even permanent speed bumps in the roads because people just treat this place like a speed track. My dog and I have almost been hit on multiple occasions. They do have a dog area, which is very nice. Or would it be great if other residents picked up their dogs' poops. Usually, the back of it is just a land of mine of poop piles. Even though the maintenance guys refill the dog bags all the time. My neighbors are great and I haven't had one complaint from them about my dog. One other thing. I signed my lease in October. I had to renew a new lease in December because, apparently, I didn't sign anything. Even, though, they never sent an email to me about signing a new contract. So, I got charged another $200 for a month-month fee. Just make sure whenever you sign a new year to check your email before the new month. I talked to the (1-800), and they were trying to argue with me, saying they sent an email and I never received one around that time. I can't wait till my contract is up. I'll be sad leaving my friends. I'm just looking for something bigger. I probably would stay if they put the speed bumps in.

    The location was great there on 53rd street. It was close to everything you need. The ladies in the office were kind and managed the complex very well. The maintenance employees were also very kind and always said hello.

  • Do not rent here

    My experience at Jersey Meadows was terrible. My neighbor and her kids were extremely loud at all hours, you could hear right through the walls. It was nice that they allowed dogs, but many residents don’t leash their dogs and dog poop ends up in everyone’s yards. If the poop isn’t picked up you get fined $200 (regardless of if it’s your pets, just if it’s in your yard). The apartment was spacious, but low quality and definitely overpriced for what it was. The bathroom shower squeaked terribly, ...
    the temperature thermostat was difficult to control, and my front door leaked when it rained causing standing water in my entryway. Maintenance was not great. It took multiple requests and “solutions” to finally get my front door to stop leaking. My car was also broken into while parked in the resident parking area. Due to personal things along with my experience living here, I terminated my lease early. This was ridiculously expensive and I was charged absurd amounts for the minimal damage to the apartment due to my dog (two small sections of flooring that were damaged by my dog). When I contacted them questioning the damages charges, nobody was really able to explain why it was so expensive other than that they replaced all of the flooring in the apartment due to the “excessive pet damage”. I would never recommend anyone live here.

  • Extremely poor maintenance issue response

    We had 2 main issues living here. The first was my wife being misled regarding the pet policy during the showing of the apartment. The 2nd and most major was an ongoing maintenance issue (our apartment would flood everytime it rained). After reporting this multiple times, and with multiple ineffective attempts to remedy this issue, we moved out before our lease was up citing this as a reason and advising them that mold would probably be an issue in the apartment due to the repeated flooding. ...
    They took no action until our official move out date (almost 2 months later) and then charged us for the mold that had grown on the carpet. When I reached out to them they were very unhelpful.

  • Just Don't

    We went to the office to try to transfer to a different apartment because our upstairs neighbor loves to look in our window at night. Not only were we told that WE had to pay $500 to not be harassed, but not two weeks later we got an eviction notice for our grill (read your lease VERY carefully.) If you want an apartment where stalking is okay but a charcoal grill isn't, here you go.

    I had an issue with my heat. I submitted a maintenance request explaining the situation. The very next day they showed up promptly in the morning, explained everything, and had the issue fixed within 15 minutes. Just another reason to add to why I love living here!
