become extremely concerning. There have been repeated incidents involving people who appear to be under the influence of substances in the stairwells. Police have been called to the building multiple times. People who do not appear to be residents have been coming into the building, and there have been incidents of smoking and drinking in the stairwells. SAFETY & SECURITY — MAJOR CONCERN The main entrance door lock has repeatedly been broken. People from other floors and people who don't appear to be residents have been loitering on residential floors and in the underground parking garage. Residents have received random calls from the front entrance in the middle of the night or early morning asking them to open the door. There have also been nighttime fire-alarm incidents, including fire trucks arriving after smoke was reportedly detected in a stairwell. This is not how residents should have to live. ELEVATOR — MONTHS OF PROBLEMS This building has 100+ residential units, yet residents have effectively been dealing with one working elevator for more than six months MANAGEMENT — WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY? The leasing office is frequently unattended, and based on my experience, the current property management and area management do not appear to be treating these problems with the urgency they deserve. Residents are dealing with security concerns, elevator problems, cleanliness issues, unauthorized people in the building and repeated disturbances. Management knows about these issues. The question is: what meaningful action is actually being taken RENT INCREASE WARNING Existing residents have already had to deal with months of disruptive renovation work and extremely loud construction noise. Now residents are facing significant rent increases at renewal. Think carefully before signing a lease and ask existing tenants what their renewal increase has been.
