The worst renting experience I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
November 21, 2024I wish I could give 0 stars to Letterman Chicago because even 1 star feels too generous. My experience at this apartment has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the day I moved in, I faced constant issues, including water damage, leaking toilets, wet carpeting, and a foul odor that made the unit completely uninhabitable. Despite reporting these problems multiple times, management failed to provide any meaningful resolutions. The situation escalated when my unit experienced sink ...regurgitation, soaking the carpet, damaging my personal belongings, and attracting bugs. The smell of sewage was so unbearable that it caused me physical distress. To make matters worse, smoking and odors from neighboring units infiltrated my apartment every single day, making it impossible to find peace or comfort at home. When I asked to terminate my lease due to these unacceptable conditions, management refused and forced me to stay in the unit, despite the ongoing problems. This lack of care and basic decency from the management is completely unacceptable. Living here was a nightmare physically, mentally, and emotionally. The stress and anxiety caused by this apartment have taken a serious toll on my well-being. I don’t even want to give a single star. If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and livable apartment, avoid Letterman Chicago at all costs. Don’t waste your money, health, or sanity on this place.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Moving here is not an experience I want anyone to have.
December 5, 2022Amenities are a joke. Its unclean, maintenance doesn’t like doing their jobs, they’re disrespectful when entering the apartments and complain in front of tenants. On top of that this dumpster of a place wants to increase rent. Management also has an extremely poor attitude towards tenants nor do they respect them. Along with the disgusting lobby and embarrassing hallways and unruly service. It would be incredibly idiotic to even so much as think to live in a dump such as The Letterman. Terrible staff
August 10, 2022I lived here for during Summer 2022. I paid $150 move-in fee and they only cleaned the bedroom and not the common areas were in terrible condition. And when I moved out they forced me to $170 cleaning fee for the areas I was not responsible for. Terrible management, terrible staff. I don’t recommend this place at all.Review from Apartments.com

Automatic Lofts Lives Up To Its Name
August 27, 2015This is the perfect building for students attending college in downtown Chicago who desire to live in close proximity to class, shopping centers, and the nightlife of Chicago. The rooms have fully furnished units that are modern, have up to date furniture, and just about every television channel you would want to watch. Unlike other student complexes in the loop, the wifi is extremely reliable. The unit is very cognizant of residents without cars, specifically with UIC college and Target located ...within walking distance roughly a block away. Also, with the blue line train system and freeway located directly across the street, getting to and from the complex is made easy. Pool tables, a large TV room, and KISS FM playing throughout the first floor lounge creates a great atmosphere for residents to have fun, interact, and stay upbeat. Oh, and it's probably worth mentioning the free Starbucks served every morning for sleep-deprived college students. I recently sold my car because everything I need is within walking distance. Along with a plethora of bars, restaurants and nightlife to choose form. Automatic Lofts Chicago Review
August 21, 2015This apartment offers many benefits, including fully furnished spaces, clean and appealing living spaces, beautiful city views, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and much more. Although it is more than 10 minutes walking distance from the Chicago Loop, it is conveniently located just minutes from a CTA station that drops off nearly anywhere in the city. On a crime distribution map, the building passes perfectly as it rests in a location with minimal to no crime reports. The staff has many ...events planned to create opportunities for the residence to meet. The living spaces have large windows to accommodate those that do not receive a window room. Great for Students
August 20, 2015The Automatic Lofts are great for students. They're right across the road from UIC and the blue line, and within easy walking distance to Mariano's (grocery store), Target, and Greektown (a great area to get food or go hang out with friends. They even have parking available under the apartments! Great location with security and they have options to match you with roommates so you don't have to worry about finding people to lease with, although you could if you and a friend wanted to live ...together. There's a gym on the first floor, and they have community events so you can bond with your roommates and get to know other people in the building. The apartments have a great feel to them too. They come furnished and there are exposed brick walls and wood beam ceilings giving the place an old Chicago vibe.
