80 years… Ever since the apartment was built
August 6, 2025Don’t expect much. Frequent repair issues like broken elevators and plumbing problems, limited parking spaces, and daily blaring car alarms (driving people crazy). Even when repairs are requested, the apartment management responds very passively.Property Manager Responded

Location is grea
June 23, 2025Location wise- no question about it. Cleanliness - poorly managed. Appliances that come with it- old and dirty. When I moved to the other building for a bigger one, they charged me for the old oven whose screws came off. Had reported it to them before but they didn’t do anything. I seldom cook at home and had barely used the oven. Then they sent me the bill $500+ for those old screws. They never get the job done and yet they make you pay for it.Property Manager Responded

Great Place, Bad Management
May 27, 2025Actually living here is great but anything involving the management is a nightmare. I have lived here for 3+ years and just transferred apartments, and it took them 2 weeks AFTER I moved in to fix an issue with the apartment that they said would be fixed immediately after the tour (and seemed surprised hadn’t been fixed already). It took me going to the office in person for my requests to be taken seriously and for anything to actually happen. The actual property and the people who live there ...are lovely, hence the 3 stars! thing before you decide to sign contract
May 15, 2025a place with potential but unfortunately it is run by the wrong people. the apartments are very poorly and very cheaply finished without the possibility of seeing before signing the contract you get the keys to the apartment when you have already signed the contract and when you enter and look at the condition of the apartment you are furious and would like to give up but you can't. i hade to spend over $3k for paiting and remodel my unit , leasing office people are not professional and rude , ...the security that works only deals with towing cars because they get extra money for it from the towing company. you may have problems with rats and no one will help you anyway. very good location and very green outside these are the only two positive aspects of living in PLBProperty Manager Responded

Poor management
May 13, 2025The location is fantastic. The management is poor. My toilet has not been working reliably since I moved in (2 years ago), and it hasn't been replaced nor have we received any concessions for rent or amenities. Basically, I am spending thousands of dollars monthly for an apartment where I cannot use my own toilet. I have had to stay with other people at times because of the toilet issue, which Park La Brea employees have yet to acknowledge or resolve. This specific issue is truly a tenant's ...nightmare scenario, but it isn't the only issue we've run into while living here. Because there are so many residents, the management is impersonal and there is no direct property manager, making it hard to get questions answered in a timely fashion. In my experience, it is much easier to live at a smaller complex or individual rental where you could develop a personal relationship with your property manager.Property Manager Responded

We just moved from New York and LOVE it here
March 29, 2025I moved to Park La Brea with my gf about 5 months ago and we both loved it. We are living in tower 37. Gym and pool are the best, and it’s only for $75/month membership. We got some problems with microwave and fridge but maintenance service responded in seconds! They have brought us new microwave and fixed the fridge in a matter of 7-10 days. We got 2 bedrooms prime kitchen layout, this apartment is HUGE and our view is on the mountains. My friends told me that rent here is a bit expensive for ...LA, but if you’re not familiar with LA and decide to move here I think this is the best place to start with! This area is super secured and no one act crazy. We have done virtual tour and did all the application process online. Administration is very professional and nice.Property Manager Responded

first time major problem
March 19, 2025so i have lived here since 2006. Clearly I like it. and have no intentions of moving. sadly this past weekend was a bit of a disaster and it surprised me. i had a leak - now let me be clear. i had a leak in the upstairs bathroom that was so bad it was pouring through the kitchen light fixture. down through the cabinets and down over the window....the whole floor was flooded. upstairs in the bathroom completely flooded and a bathtub that was filled with brown water. i called service ...immediatelty (9am on sunday). obviously a water situation like this pretty serious). the lovely person on the other end (the answering service somewhere in another part of the world). said oh.. that sounds bad. and put the order in. i was finally able to get the water to stop flowing (honestly i don't even know what i did) and started the clean up. 3pm no one yet so i called again. by this time i have ruined (yes completely ruined) the rug in my kitchen and 10 towels...threw out all the boxes of food in the cabinets as they were soaked and ruined (yeah that was a lot of food). at 7:30pm i called again since no one had come by or called. and the day ended and nothing happened. my bathtub still filled with a horrid brown water but finally all the water in the kitchen gone...on monday i was livid. after 20 years of living here i had now experienced what other people had said (and i in the past did not believe them) i found an email for someone in maintence and let them know the issue and it needed to be fixed before i was home from work. i sent it at 9am.... i got a repsonse about 10 minutes later - no apologies or explainations just a yeah we saw the work order someone will be there soon email. i have cameras in my house. they got there at 2. now... it is fixed. and for this i am grateful...but i am unbelievably disappointed in the way this was handled. whether i have been there 20 years or 20 days. i understand that there are a lot of folks in PLB (4500 apartments). and yes there are always emergencies. i also know that water jumps to the top of the list... and mine was out of hand. i got lucky that i ended up dealing with it... had i know this was going to be a problem i would have just called a plumber myself. sounds like there are some issues that need to be addressed at PLB and i hope that they take care of them.... i have never been interested in lip-service.... what i want is to know that where i live is in fact livable.Property Manager Responded
