Stay Far Away!!

I lived here for 4 years and literally these apartments are the Worst!! You can only imagine how many roaches, spiders, ants and more that are here. These apartments are extremely Old, they say it’s “updated” but extremely poorly. The residents there are always Loud, fighting and drug dealers make this place unsafe. The leasing agents will directly lie and say that the property is safe. There’s been numerous car break in’s, the maintenance team is not very bright, plus when you request ...

For anyone that might apply to this place, please DON'T! It is not worth it! They'll try to get you to stay here with some amazing offer or whatever but trust me, its not worth it! The first issue I had when I got here was nothing was really cleaned, things were missing. The huge red flag was that some of the outlets were would spark when plugged in and make loud noises! Other than that whenever they got that fixed it was okay but let's get down to real business of this place. They have a BIG ...
German roach infestation!!! Within a week or 2 they were everywhere! Call maintenance to come handle it but nothing really works! Speaking of maintenance but they're not the best either, not going to lie. It takes them a LONG time to get things fixed! Like maybe 2-3 weeks. Now its probably not maintenance fault because they're probably short staffed and got to handle the important stuff first so I'll try not to fault them. Also dog poop everywhere! She helped us through our application process and has been an amazing agent along the way along with tours, quick responses and answering any questions we had!

I had a problem with wasps quickly setting up a nest right next to my front door and Jill made sure pest control would come by that day to spray. I’m allergic and can’t get stung. Jill made the effort to follow me back to my apartment and temporarily shoo the wasps away so I could get inside until pest control arrived. She has always been the most pleasant person to work with in the management office but I really appreciate the extra step to help me out.

I have enjoyed living here. Any issues I needed, have been solved swiftly. Jill has especially gone out of her way from the beginning to help me out. She helped me get into a nice apartment, and helped with getting me entered into financial assistance programs. She even stayed an hour late to make sure I could get moved in when I got off work. The apartments are very nice, and I was even able to get into a larger than expected apartment. Maintenance gets sent down quickly, and my neighbors have ...
all been kind, and welcoming. When I was having an issue that could seriously affect my quality of life, Jill jumped into action and made sure that it was solved within a single day. She took me seriously when I needed her, and helped me when she didn’t have to. I am thankful to live in a place where I know any issues will be solved. This feels like a very safe place to live, with good people around. It’s normally pretty quiet, and I haven’t had any issues with anyone here. If you’re looking for an apartment, ask for Jill and she will get you set up with financial assistance programs and moved in.

The complex was built in the 70's, I believe. Pelham has strived to update not only the esthetics, but the infrastructure of the buildings. I have never had an issue getting help from maintenance when needed. I think if you are a quiet, polite tenant, and keep a clean house, it goes along way to working well with the "office". Jill is amazing and will show you to your new home! I think the value matches the rent.

nice for temporary needs no longevity

If you are in need of a roof over your head go ahead and apply, but if you are wanting a HOME to live in DONT do it. I cannot foresee my self living here longer than the lease length amount. I only been here 1 week and my concerns have been met with hostility and it should tell you something if a exterminator needs to come out every Tuesday to the property. they will beef up the benefits to get you in but I can surely say it is not worth it.

The gym needs severe updating. Get used to loud music every weekend and not knowing where it’s coming from. Someone threw food beside the wall where our apartment was located and it was never rinsed down so it has now turned into black mold(I informed the groundskeeper). We were promised new appliances and cabinets the entire stay of our lease. We never received the appliances or cabinets, and only new countertops showed up 2 weeks before we moved out. The outdoor carpeting stinks especially when ...
it rains and ugly stains are embedded in them from years of foot traffic. The caulking in the bathroom tub and tiling perpetually had mold growing in it and required intensive cleaning. Quite frankly these apartments are not worth the price and it crazy seeing the prices now jump 300$+ dollars over the span of 1 year The maintenance people are nice though, they come same day :)

Spider Infested! Maintenance issues! Stay away!

I lived in APT 224. The water pressure is very low in these apartments. Tub drains were stopped up. The water only stayed hot 3-5 minutes. First they tried to say it was the cold weather causing the water to not stay hot long. Once temperatures warmed up the same issues. They finally replaced the hot water heater but it did not fix the issue. The toilet had a leak causing a sewage smell. The put white sealant around it causing it to look tacky instead of actually fixing the leak. The bathroom ...
sink had a leak. The dishwasher is always clogged up. I had 17 work orders dating back to the day I moved in and that's not counting them coming in for other issues. Maintenance was in and out the entire time I lived there. The door to the laundry closet kept falling off the track. The tile in the bathroom was all chipped up. They replaced it and it looked worse than it did before they replaced it. The wall behind the toilet looked moldy before thy painted over it. Maintenance rigs everything up which causes repeated work orders. Apartment 224 also has huge spiders inside. 7 days after my move in the issues started. Pest control does not work. I even paid for an outside pest control service to come in and it didn't work. You can't enjoy the patio because spiders are always on it as well. The door had to be replaced because the old one had big gaps that they were coming through. Replacing the door didn't stop them. I was asleep one night and woke up to one crawling in the ceiling near my bed, I was terrified. I asked to be transferred to a different apartment but was told my floor plan would not be available until August. I had to keep asking for corporate's number for months. They finally gave it to me and I was told by the lady I spoke with that I could break the lease with no penalty. I was afraid to go to sleep at night. I was afraid to go in the apartment and when I did I sat on the bed the entire time looking out for spiders. I found another place but it won't be available until 7/2, however I had to pack up and move out on 6/5, because the spiders kept getting worse and I couldn't take anymore. I had to put all my stuff in storage because I had no where to put my stuff. I had no stable place to live due to the situation. Sterling Pelham was collecting rent but I was suffering paying rent in an apartment I could not enjoy. I was going to try to tough it out until 7/2 hoping the poison would eventually work.
