I've only been living here at RC Briarwood for about 6 months, but so far it's not too bad. I'm used to more of a "luxuary" apartment-style type of living back in my homestate, but after taking a HUGE pay-cut when I moved out here to Southern CA, I had to find a place that would work well w/my budget.
RC Briarwood had a fairly pretty homey atmosphere, and the main thing I appreciated the most was the friendly office staff. Tammy really was just so helpful and very personable, and she actually
...aided me in my decision to move there instead of all of the other various apartments I had frequented a visit to.
The property is pretty well-maintained and clean. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but if you're looking for a place that is cozy and has what you need, then RC Briarwood is a decent place.
Sometimes neighbors can be noisy (but that can be anywhere), and they are constantly doing work on the apartment complex (ie. lawn work, landscaping, upgrades, painting, etc), so I sometimes get notices in the door that they are performing work on a certain day. So far however, none of the maintenance work has inconvenienced me.
I wish my apartment had central AC, and I think this is one of the biggest cons of this apartment complex. I'm used to central air, and so during the evening in the summer it gets really HOT in my bedroom since my wall unit is located in my living room. However, if you have a box fan, and open the windows it can be somewhat bearable.
Overall I like my place. I'm a single woman and I feel safe living here. The neighborhood in general is quiet, and many times I walk outside of the complex in the neighborhood in the evenings after dinner, so I feel pretty safe in my surroundings.
They have laundry facilities on site, pool, small fitness center, and each tenant has a parking car port for their car.
RC Briarwood is not as cheap as I would like it to be in terms of price and what I can afford these days, but I will say that it is probably one of the more cheaper apartments in the area.I was looking at a studio down the street...same price, but Briarwood actually allowed dogs (I have a dog) and I would be getting MORE space, and an actual BR here than at the other complex I was looking at.
Overall I like thecomplex, & it's not far from work. It's very accessible to many things (freeway, shopping centers, the mall, etc), and at times I even walk to the grocery store to do my grocery shopping (I'm THAT close!).
