Rent gouging
January 5, 2021Customer service, communication and transparency go a long way. They will definitely try to rip you off, and you won’t know until the bill comes through. Said utilities would be inclusive as well for a corporate lease, but ended up charging for electric. Signed the notification to vacate that stated a certain price for last month’s rent, and then saw I was being charged an extra $400 when the rent statement was posted.Property Manager Responded

Great apartments!
May 4, 2016Retreat at Speedway has been wonderful! I moved here from 3,000 miles away without ever seeing the complex in person and I couldn't be happier. I rented a 1-bed/1-bath beginning in June 2015 and have had a great experience. The apartments are quite spacious for 1-beds and very reasonably priced. I had more than enough space for all my furniture and frankly probably should have bought more! Both the living room and bedroom are huge, the kitchen has a nice separate laundry area with additional ...storage. The bedroom has a large walk-in closet which is perfect. There's also a huge closet space off the balcony which is great for long-term storage or large items. All the appliances in the kitchen work well, never had any problems with any of them. Also, the water pressure is excellent! I can't emphasize this enough; this is an easy thing to overlook and not think about when you're looking for apartments. Additionally, the management and leasing staff are all very pleasant, easy to work with, and responsive! I've only had a couple maintenance requests but every time they were dealt with within 48 hours. Any time I had a question, needed to pick up a package, or get help with anything else, the office staff was always there. The grounds are also quite nice, lots of grass (a rarity in the desert!), and a nice pool and hot tub area. The main office area keeps everything centralized including mailboxes, package pick-up, the fitness center, and a clubhouse area with coffee and couches. Lastly, the surrounding area is perfect for so many things. The complex is surrounded by every big box imaginable so you'll never need to go far for anything. There's a Target, Costco, Walmart, Lowe's, and many many others less than a mile away. You're also a short drive to Park Place Mall. Overall, I have to give the Retreat 5 stars, I really can't think of anything I'd complain about. I'd absolutely recommend this location to anyone moving to Tucson!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

August 18, 2015It's very nice and people who works for "The Retreat" are very helpful and nice. The only problem is that my apartment is very noisy because it is located on the side of the Speedway Blvd. Which is a very busy street.Review from Apartments.com
Security of Home
August 26, 2015I've lived here since returning from Iraq in 2004. While out processing I was directed to The Retreat. Lovely settings,close to everything with park trails and animal friendly. Alot of military,Law Enforcement,company reps live here. Retired couples as well. Only real issue I have is the lack of recycling cans through out the property,and though not that old apartments need to be updated with more energy efficient appliances along with a simple update with cabinets. Beautiful pool and workout ...area. Everything is within walking distance. Quiet surroundings even though your close to a major road. I've recommended this place to everyone who was looking for a great place to live. Lastly you pay for water,sewage,electric. As long as your an energy efficient your bills should be within the norm. Pricing compared to others is slightly higher but they do work out a lot of deals for Veterans,Officers,and company personal.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
A lot better than most!
August 15, 2015The apartment complex has a lot of amenities like the pool and 24 hour gym that well maintained which is a lot better than most apartments can say. The office staff is always really helpful and if there are any maintenance issues they are immediately fixed rather than having to wait days for someone to even respond. This apartment complex is great for families, I don't have to worry about neighbors throwing a college party! What a relief! There's Better
August 13, 2015I lived in this complex for a year, switched apartments, and moved back. After 4 months I'm starting to remember why I left the first time. The curb appeal and apartment itself is nice, has some of the "higher end" furnishes however I don't believe its worth the rent they charge here (But if you catch a special its not bad). Living rooms and kitchens are small but the bedroom & bathroom are good sizes. Parking is absolutely terrible! the spaces are so close together & you can barely back ...into a space if you live in a "Alley way". You only get one space per unit & there's only a handful of extra parking if you have guests or more than one vehicle. The Retreat at Speedway
July 21, 2015I've lived here for three years now, the staff are great! I really like that it's a gated community with a patrol person at night. The apartment I live in is just the right size for me and my pets, with potty areas really close by. The staff recently had a luau, and often does little things to make you feel welcome.
