Long-Term Tenant Experience: Poor Management and Communication Issues
March 24, 2026I cannot leave this review blank, but even one star feels far too generous for this experience. I do NOT recommend Richmond Square at 300 Regina Street North in Waterloo. I have been a tenant here for nearly 5 years, and unfortunately my experience with the management office has been very disappointing and unprofessional. Communication is poor and often disrespectful. Emails are ignored or answered with an unprofessional tone (for example: “hey you can ask them to call me below”), which is not ...appropriate in any professional setting. To clarify an important point: due to a change in my work payment schedule, I informed management in advance that my rent would be paid at the end of each month instead of the 1st. Despite this, rent was ALWAYS paid in full within the same month, and we never had any outstanding or unpaid balance. However, management later provided incorrect and damaging information to a third party, stating that we had multiple N9 notices and pending rent payments. This is misleading. Any notices were related to the payment timing change—not unpaid rent—and there was never any balance owing. When I tried to clarify this situation, I was met with dismissive and unhelpful responses. I was told they would not speak over the phone and that I had to come in person. When I explained that I work in another city and leave early each morning, I was told: “it’s not my problem.” After years of being responsible tenants, this lack of professionalism, poor communication, and misrepresentation is unacceptable.
