My husband and I have lived here for nearly a year now and we really like it.
First, it's really safe. The building living area levels are secured as is the parking in the basement. That's a big deal to us and probably to most people. There's plenty of parking in the lot, too, and electric car charging for people that matters to.
Our apartment is quiet and well insulated from our neighbors's sounds which is great in the current work-from-home environment. Bringing home groceries the other
...day, we heard our neighbor's music in the hall, but when we got in our apartment we didn't hear a thing so it's pretty clear the walls are well sound-proofed. There are plenty of animals around - I see people walking their dogs all the time and I'm pretty sure there's one on the level below us - and I don't think I've ever heard a peep. Just the same, the neighbors are good and courteous.
The apartment, property, community room, etc. are as advertised. There is a workout room, but we're members at the Y across the street. It's about a 3 minute walk and meets our needs a little better. For us, having heated parking in the basement and a storage closet was a major perk and the finishes and such - the counters, stainless, double closets - are nice. The natural light is awesome. We haven't had problems with anything to speak of.
The staff is accountable and responsive, nice, and actually knows who we are in a fairly big property, so that's impressive. They also actually do maintenance - they gave us plenty of notice before the garage was going to be washed down so that everyone could get everything out of there and I think 48 hours notice or more before changing air filters.
The area is semi-walkable. You can get to the lake and park easily, you can get to some places to eat, stuff like that. The bike path is right behind the building.
One odd little thing: if you like to cook, run the fan. The smoke detectors are really sensitive. They'll turn off as soon as they figure out that, really, nothing's burning, it's just really hot, but running the fan fixes the problem.
