Sycamore Greens Changed My Life
January 19, 2016I lived here with a close friend of mine for a year and we are just about done with our lease. We absolutely loved this community! The apartments look great, the shrubbery is always well maintained and kept green, and the community events give families a safe and welcoming environment. This place is great to raise kids - the lovely staff hold events like Pumpkin Carvings, and BBQS which provides a nice place for kids to play and adults to hang out. There are also quite a few students that make ...use of the pool and commute to their schools on the 78 freeway, which is right down the street. There is also a nice workout center right next to the leasing office for those that want to exercise close to home. The Shadowridge area is a super nice and many really want to be part of this community. The management is super professional, youthful and sweet. Kelle overlooks the entire compound from her perch and keeps things running smoothly - big picture stuff. Taylor is kind and sincere when she speaks and will be your initial contact to the management. I don't remember the main maintenance guy's name but he is always super polite and is basically the Tony Stark of maintaining an apartment - if there isn't something he can't single-handedly fix, he'll get the proper reinforcements to back him up. Our freezer stopped working once and they actually replaced the whole thing! The apartment was in great condition when we first moved in - freshly painted, new window blinds, new closet doors if needed - and I hear they are upgrading the counter tops. Overall my life has drastically changed over the past year and it was great to have a home that was welcoming and didn't make me worry about losing heating or broken pipes or any of the nonsense. Oh yeah the A/C units are really powerful - these things can change temperatures in minutes. Well, this has gone on too long now... I leave you with one last thing.... please use Time Warner for your internet... No one should be forced to use AT&T.... EVER... Okay I'm done... and even MORE HUNGRY than before. One last last thing... someone commented on the dryer below... Just set it to timed dry instead! This will reduce the 5 beeps to 1 SHORT BEEP duh.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
A decent place to live
August 23, 2015The staff here at Sycamore Greens has been nothing but helpful and friendly. Anytime that we have had an issue which is few, they have take care of it immediately. The amenities are great and it is close to the freeway and major shopping areas. There are a lot of tress and greenery around with grassy areas for dogs to play around. As far as the living space. everything is well maintained. The carpet was a little sticky when we moved in. We have lived here for over 1 year and they gave us a free ...carpet cleaning when we resigned our lease. The guy that came down spent 20min and if felt like only a little bit was cleaned. I've cleaned the carpet before and I spent a couple of hours on it. The washer and dryer in the unit have a couple of things that bug me but I can live with it. The washer locks at a certain point and you can't open it once it's going and you have to wait almost 15 min to get it open after it finishes. We use a knife to open it. The dryer on the other hand has a buzzer that is loud and goes off 4-5 times during the process and there is no switch to turn it off. This makes drying clothes while you sleep impossible because it will wake you up in a panic. I would have liked more cabinet storage for towels and even a pantry for the kitchen. The garages are a nice added feature and outside storage area is a good size. Storage was a criteria when we were moving and Sycamore Greens had the best around that was in our price range. We were able to put our own refrigerator in the closet with extra space to spare. The staff puts on community events such as BBQ's, Christmas decorating and Santa Clause pics for the kids at Christmas. That was fun. August 22, 2015This complex is quiet and the management is friendly, helpful and professional. Grounds are well maintained. The complex is located 10-15 mins from the beach, and as well as major shopping centers. We moved to another state, and when we moved back, moved right into the same complex, because we love it here.Review from Apartments.com
Great Location
September 4, 2015If you are looking for apartments in this area save yourself the hassle you will not find any as large and spacious as these in Shadowridge Vista!!! They take care of problems that might arise promptly. They are continually upgrading and modernizing the community which is great. No playground for children but grassy areas which can be used and there is a pool and an updated gym. Friendly and helpful staff. Pet friendly and pet owners seem very respectful and clean up after pets. The apartment is ...near the Vista San Marcos school district and it is zoned under San Marcos so if you have kids its a great district to be in. The elementary school Joli Ann is excellent and the high school is San Marcos High which is newly renovated and highly rated!! It is in close proximity to 24hour fitness, 2 targets, Walmart as well as restaurants, Get Air and 2 parks. The location allows you to shop and do business in either Vista, San Marcos or Carlsbad!! As anywhere else rent goes up each year but at least the community reflects the increases in that it is well maintained. There has also been a change in office manager and the new manager has been reasonable and professional which is important because a place is only as good as the management sometimes;)Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
