  • Visitor car was towed when it was a registered guest

    February 1, 2026
    I'm very disappointed with the way this building manages visitor parkings. when my guest arrived, I submitted a parking permit and after a few minutes I received the permit confirmation. at this time my guest left the car and walked towards the elevator. the towing person at this time scanned her car and since it showed unregistered, after my guest got into the elevator, they towed her car. the confirmation email was received at 12:11pm the towing company scan was at 12:07pm. my guest lost $305 ...
    because of 4 minutes. it seems to me the towing person was hunting the visitors waiting for them to leave their cars and scan immediately. I called the phone number which is under every review. They said they cannot do anything about it.

  • Super frustrating visiting experience

    January 8, 2026
    Super frustrating experience visiting San Simeon. My car was towed within minutes of arrival while the parking permit confirmation was being emailed to us. I had to pay over $300 to get the car back and go back to my family member’s place in a bad mood. San Simeon ruined a perfectly good day at all cost just to gain a bit extra cash. This is despite the fact that we followed all parking rules. If you’d like to get visited by family/friends, don’t stay at San Simeon!

    Imagine being sold on paying an additional fee for "security" every month for a peace of mind and walking out to go to work and finding your car broken with the no rims and tires sitting on the floor. Then imagine from other reviews that there have been other car break ins within the last couple weeks and no messages have gone out to notify residents of the issues and how the issue is being mitigated. This makes the 2nd break in for our family, I can only imagine how many more issues like this ...
    go unheard of. There has to be a level of comfort for theives to keep returning.

As a company, we do everything we can to take care of our residents, however each person remains responsible for his or her own safety. While we can't prevent crime from happening, we do take steps to promote preventative measures. We never want our residents to experience crime at home, or anywhere else. As always, we are in touch with local authorities when crime occurs either at our community or in the area.

  • Extremely horrible management, low quality property

    Management at this property is horrendous. Since being taken over by Knightvest, the front office has become even less responsive, and does not take responsibility for any of the issues in the property. Water has been out for multiple days at a time, people have been locked out after hours due to a malfunction on the electric locks, and multiple packages have been stolen on a regular basis. Every single time there is an issue, management claims it is not their problem and is the third party's ...
    problem because they have delegated responsibility over every meaningful aspect of the property to a third party service provider, and are unable to help residents. Very difficult to get help during short hours and phone line typically just goes to voicemail. Beware of five star reviews, they are likely paid for by management. There are plenty of newer, cheaper, better maintained apartments nearby. No need to live in a place that is right next to construction for the next few years.

    I moved from Ohio to Texas and had no idea where to live. The staff at San Simeon have been gracious and accommodating in our transition to this wonderful city. I am so glad we chose this little community with so many nice neighbors. It made our move so much easier to handle.

    Stay far away, moving out as soon as we can. Knightvest took over this complex recently and caring about tenants left with the previous owners. Do not live here!

    Amil 2121 is located in the most ideal area of Montrose. Its not that far at all from grocery stores and tons of food options. Close to very nice bars and lounges for a great night out right down the street. The park across the street makes working out and being active so easy and fun. All in all, Amil 2121 is a great place to call home.

    I do want to say that we moved from another AMLI complex and were excited to stay with AMLI. We needed a two unit apartment and when we walked into our current unit it felt like home. Small improvements and we will be there. I know the pandemic has made it hard to have a better interaction with the tenants.
