Peaceful, good management, but not soundproof
August 14, 2015Pros: New management took over a couple of years ago and they have been diligently improving the property value by making upgrades, mostly outside but some inside as well. Rent - While we saw an increase in rent from $379 to $425 per month (1 bdrm apt.), it is still fairly affordable. Another increase though would put this in the negative column for me and probably force me to move out. Peaceful - For the most part it's peaceful, no crime to speak of. Cons: Biggest negative is the fact there ...is no sound barrier between apartments. Like many apartment buildings built back when this one was, you can hear everything the neighbor above or below you does. Entering and exiting the driveway - There is one entrance and exit, and it's on a very busy road, plus it's next to a gas station driveway, along with a street across from it. Your head has to be on a swivel, and you have to make sure cars going north or south are not moving into the middle lane to turn into the gas station, otherwise you could time your pullout thinking they'll be past you when in fact they aren't. Maintenance - While things get taken care of eventually it can take months to have something repaired. That's unacceptable. And I'm talking about fairly minor things that turn into an inconvenience as they get worse. Heating cost - Tenants living in the bottom floor apartments end up paying for their neighbor's heat on the 2nd floor. It's electric heat and can get a little expensive for the 1st floor tenant if the 2nd floor tenant doesn't turn on their heat. Those who live on the 2nd floor must love that scenario though. If you have no problem dealing with hearing your neighbor's every move and sound, you'd probably rate this 4 out of 5 stars. Most people I'm sure would find that a big issue. But the price of rent makes it halfway tolerable. If rents go up again this year or next, it'll be too much. Overall, Secor Woods Apartments is a liveable complex, with a few annoying issues.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
If you enjoy your privacy
July 20, 2015I have lived here 3 years and enjoy the fact that I can enjoy my solidarity. The rent is affordable. Maintanence is performed fairly quickly and water is included in rent.Review from Apartments.com
