I was so disappointed in the end.
September 20, 2023I'm leaving Shellbrook sadly disappointed. In the seven years I lived there, I referred three new residents, always kept the apartment clean, paid my rent early each month, and was a good tenant. Shellbrook was good to me, too. Maintenance requests were responded to quickly, and I've been pleased with the community over the years. I've given the property two 5 star reviews in the past. It's unfortunate that I have to give a 2 star review upon moving out. The issue: I left the apartment in ...great condition when I moved, and expected to receive my $100 security deposit minus my final water bill. Instead, I was charged $40 for a yellow carpet stain and $85 for a pet "pee stain" cleaning fee. From the photos they sent, the "yellow stain" isn't visible and the "pee stain" on the bottom of the carpet is so small that it couldn't have been caused by my 15 lb. cat, who has always, without fail, used the litter box. These stains could have easily been removed by a general carpet cleaning and are signs of regular wear and tear from having lived there for seven years. *Also, the carpet at 7 years old will be replaced anyway. It baffles me that I should be charged this amount. It disappoints me that after having been such a good tenant that I would be treated so callously upon moving out. I cannot in good conscience recommend Shellbrook or any Drucker and Falk properties. It hurts to get burned. A 2-star review is appropriate.Property Manager Responded

Shellbrook CT
September 14, 2015Great property, Nice area and great for pet owners. North Hills is a 5 min drive away and its a 15 min drive to NCSU/Meredith College. Affordable rent with a good amount of space and parking is open. While there are a few issues with tile-work in the bathroom, a few phone lines hanging with their cases and having the cable line pulled from a closet a room over. Maintenance is great, they usually come within 2-3 days if its a non-emergency and they are very polite. If you enjoy a quiet, peaceful ...area with a huge lake equipped with turtles, fish and geese to keep you company, nice private balconies, large spacious rooms and great flooring, this is it.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Shellbrook: where the tenants matter
July 28, 2015When I moved to Raleigh I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of apartments in the area. I spent a week trying to find an affordable and nice one bedroom apartment. Being right out of college I needed the pricing to be reasonable and the environment to be safe. After my searching it was quite clear Shellbrook Apartments were superior. The employees are all incredibly kind and helpful. They are the only complex in the area that does not have breed restrictions on dogs which to me speaks highly ...of them already. What really shocked me was when my cat got fleas and the complex THE SAME DAY I reported it called me back and had an exterminator come in, at no cost to me. Also the few times I've had problems maintenance always comes the SAME DAY to fix the issue. Along with just a pleasant environment- a community where one can feel safe- Shellbrook has frequent mixer events and tries to get its tenants acquainted. They are constantly improving and having a stocked lake in my backyard is pretty fantastic. Shellbrook exceeded my expectations and everyone I've met who lives there says the exact same thing. Living at Shellbrook
July 20, 2015Shellbrook Apartments is a great place to live. The staff is professional and nice. Maintenance issues are handled in a timely manner. They offer a number of amenities such as a pool, basic work out room, and laundry facility. They offer a number of apartment styles. Some are renovated and some are not. Shellbrook is located in north hills which is really close to lots of stores and restaurants. The place be a bit buggy, but they make an effort to exterminate the apartments every few months.Review from Apartments.com
