Apartment itself is alright - great location, rent price isn't outrageous (although not a bargain either), and staff is friendly. However, be warned that neighboring renovations are frequent and common if you choose to move here right now - you might hear hammering and other noise even into the evening for weeks on end (It is almost 9pm and there is hammering as I write this!). laundry situation. As of now each wash and each dry is $2.35, but you need to fill a prepaid card. As far as I can tell, you can only do so in increments of 10s (maybe 5s?) - all is to say, you will lose a little bit of money by doing laundry. The machines are unintuitive at best - they do not provide controls for temperature, but instead have a few preset buttons (e.g., for lights, darks, colors). I do think the apartment rooms are pretty good. Love that they come with a dishwasher. Staff is friendly and genuine on tours. Utility caps are also a plus. Staff also puts on little events in the lobby around the holidays if that's your cup of tea. Shoreham is not bad by any means, but it does have downsides that a prospective renter should be aware of.

On the Lake and near downtown

I've lived at the Shoreham for 2 years now with few to no complaints. Having access to the pool in the summer is a huge perk of living here, as well as the proximity to downtown CLE, Lakewood, and the Metroparks. I was lucky to have a downtown and lake view, although not everyone renter will. A few minor drawbacks are the lack of street parking and somewhat outdated appliances/furnishings, also I didn't have a dishwasher. Overall, a nice place to live in a mostly safe area.
