I lived there for 2 years and I loved it. Is such a great community, really nice people living there. Others reviews are accurate about getting complaints about your pet being pet. I got several complaints from a neighbor that doesn’t like pets because my dog was barking, not late at night, in the middle of the day. But the worse was at move out. I never lived in a place that took all my deposit and a looooot more. I take care of where I live and always get all my deposit back, but not here. But ...
a friend of mine advised me that this is a common practice here. So when you move out, be prepared to not see a penny of your deposit.

If You’re Looking for Pet Friendly - I’d pick elsewhere

Nice place to live if you like to drop your stuff and receive cranky emails ALL the time about your pets being pets.
Claims to be pet friendly but management would prefer if your pet was a kenneled pet rock. When management sees you on site they look automatically the other way.
Corporate says they will work on training employees. You can train skills, not personality. If they are nice during your tour. It’s a lie.

If you’re looking for an apartment - LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE. Do not rent here. It’s not worth the headache or money.
Let me begin by saying that I am required to give a one star review, I would select zero if I could. This apartment complex will lie to you at move in and do anything they can to milk you of your money. A couple months ago, they sent an email stating that EVERYONE was required to move their vehicles so they can sweep the parking lot/garages ? or your car would be towed at your *own* ...
expense. Within 24 hours! Didn’t care to provide enough notice to us then. There are elderly tenants in our complex that needed more time in advance to get their belongings moved and got towed at their own expense because Sierra Pointe doesn’t care at all.
The pool is basically unusable because they don’t care if you’re a resident or not. So entire families/parties take up all 6 chairs provided. So don’t count on being able to use that amenity in your grossly overpriced rent. You could find a 2+ bedroom apartment in wdm for less than a one bedroom here.
The hallways also consistently smell like trash/puke. For the amount of money everyone pays, you’d assume this wouldn’t be an issue. Dogs are always barking, and staff does nothing about noise complaints (they’re too busy sunbathing at the pool to be an actual landlord). Kids are constantly running down halls, even past their “quiet hours” rule.
Three property managers have come and go. They were actually good people and cared about residents. It’s clear the people left are the individuals that could care less about job integrity. Don’t waste your money here. Any other complex would be better than Sierra Pointe.

Absolutely horrible experience. Problems with all appliances (no ice maker for 3 months, leaking dishwasher to the point they had to replace the kitchen floors, back up of water into the kitchen sink, no dishwasher, etc). A theft of my personal articles by maintenance people resulting in a sizable insurance claim (and the building prides itself on being crime free) loss/ruination of a very nice oriental rug which they refused to credit me for. Oh, and when I asked for an early termination due to ...
a job change/move, they REFUSED to budge even when my lawyer got involved based on all I've had. NIGHTMARE. Just wrote a check for $3500 to break the lease. Best $3500 I've ever spent to be rid of this place. Leasers beware. Stay away from this place!!!!!! Wish I could give ZERO stars.

Where do I begin..First we were told when we moved in that no one would be in the unit next door because it was a model unit and yet when we moved in, the unit was occupied and the neighbors were very noisy. Never got a response back as to why that was. Then we had a family emergency come up and my boyfriend needed to move back home to Colorado for that, we gave them two months notice that we were leaving, and our options were to pay $3000 to break our lease OR give them permission to find a ...
sub-leaser (meaning we'd be in charge of everything till they found someone). We moved out in August and our lease was till October 24th. Never heard back from them in regards to my questions about moving out. And of course they didn't find anyone to re-rent my apartment too, so I got a bill of $5,148! I'm livid. I could of found someone to move in before I moved out, had I known they couldn't find someone. But I trusted them. They said, "Oh the Vista is one of our most popular floor plans and since you have a one bedroom there will be no problem finding a new tenant" Yeah right. My biggest regret was thinking they would be professional and try to help out they're tenants, but they're just another money hungry apartment complex. I do not recommend.

I moved into Sierria Apartment from a 4 bedroom home at the Glen Oaks Country Club into a 2 bedroom apartment and it is by far the most wonderful place to make a home. This place is like living in a resort every day with all the bells and whistles. There is even a spay room for your pet to get groomed. Sierra Point is the best apartment complex I have lived in. With great amenities and even better staff. I have recommended many of my friends and co-works to move into this building as well. Many who have done so! With a great location in growing Des Moines you are only a short walk from the Jordan Creek Shopping Mall and other great restaurants. With a few apartments left I really recommend getting here today before they are full!
