Renters Beware
August 29, 2025I am writing regarding the handling of my security deposit after moving out of my apartment at The Alexan, where I had a lease for two years. At the end of my lease, no representative was available to complete a walk-through with me. I professionally cleaned the apartment prior to move-out and left it in as good, if not better, condition than when I moved in. Despite this, over $200 was deducted from my security deposit for “additional cleaning” and a cracked refrigerator drawer. I strongly ...dispute these charges, as the unit was left clean, and the refrigerator drawer was not cracked at the time of my departure. Additionally, I would note that throughout my tenancy the apartment was affected by a persistent, masked sewage odor that could never be fully covered or eliminated. September 9, 2024Hello, we aren’t aware of any recent break-ins. We’d love to hear from you to find out more about your concerns. While we can't guarantee anyone's safety, we do offer many deterrents to potential thieves. Our community is gated and all exterior access points require a fob. We have cameras throughout common areas of high traffic in the community and at the entrances and exits of our garages (our neighborhood watch officers reviewed their placement for effectiveness). We have a courtesy patrol who comes through our garage and community several times a night and provides detailed reports of each stop. They also assist by alerting us when residents leave valuables in their cars so we can reach out to remind them to TAKE LOCK HIDE. We do ask that residents do their part to keep our community and garage free from thieves by taking belongings home when they park, hiding any valuables that might be left in the car, and locking the vehicle.
