I am writing regarding the handling of my security deposit after moving out of my apartment at The Alexan, where I had a lease for two years.
At the end of my lease, no representative was available to complete a walk-through with me. I professionally cleaned the apartment prior to move-out and left it in as good, if not better, condition than when I moved in. Despite this, over $200 was deducted from my security deposit for “additional cleaning” and a cracked refrigerator drawer. I strongly ...
dispute these charges, as the unit was left clean, and the refrigerator drawer was not cracked at the time of my departure.
Additionally, I would note that throughout my tenancy the apartment was affected by a persistent, masked sewage odor that could never be fully covered or eliminated. This issue speaks to a preexisting condition in the unit that was not caused by me as a tenant.
