Garbage pick-up infrequent
February 18, 2022Never know when garbage will be emptied. Often times garbage is overflowing and spilling all over the ground. Had a huge problem with rats. Very gross!Review from Apartments.com
Do not live here!
November 26, 2019Not a safe place to live. Lots of drug activity during the day time and especially at night. I have seen prostitutes walk around the neighborhood. Late night parties and fights. Manager don't seem to care at all! Whenever I go to the office there's a new staff member or manager, they don't seem to stay very long. The Ellington Apartments is not a safe place to live, especially if you are raising kids. Affordable but not worth it. Do not live here!Review from Apartments.com
Okay...
August 24, 2015I've lived here for a few years, and there are some really good things about this place like the grounds, the neighborhood, and the big windows. The cons are the laundry rooms, which are way too few for a place this huge, and are all only accessible down stairs and outside. There are only a few machines in each room, which means you could lug your laundry back and forth a few times a day and still not get an open one. The price of the apartments seem pretty good for the metro area until you ...realize you don't get a dishwasher in the unit, which seems standard these days. There's a very large ant problem throughout the whole property. There's only one heater in the apartment, which is in the living room. This is a problem in the winter as it leaves the bedrooms freezing and the apartments are magnets for mold. The office staff seem like they are on top of things and professional, but have made many mistakes just with my account alone and are painfully slow. The walls and ceilings are very thin!!! Be prepared to hear everything. For all these issues, the rent isn't such a good deal. I'm moving as soon as possible. It seems like a lot of people here are.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

August 5, 2015The Ellington apartments, are inexpensive and spacious. The office staff and maintenance are incredibly fast and helpful. The complex is located 6~ blocks away from the max station on 60th which makes going downtown easy.Review from Apartments.com

August 5, 2015These apartments are fantastic in my opinion. They are low income housing so they are quite afordable. The neighbors are quite nice. There are neighborhood events from time to time. Great place to live
July 28, 2015The Ellington apartments are located in NE Portland. Its right on the Bus line, close to the Max, with Schools that are close and a few nice bars so you can get a cold one. It's a very quite nieborhood, and I feel comfortable about letting the kids play outside or go down to the local store. I believe the place was build in the 40's and has that older feel to it, to the old door knobs and all hardwood floors. The floors are beautiful and very hard to find a place that isn't carpeted. Everyone ...seems to be nice and friendly and most have BBQ get togethers. There is a private entrance for each four apartments, which is very nice. The only real draw back to the complex is there are no decks and no pool. If those two things where here, I don't think I would move.
