Six months in and loving it!
June 19, 2025I did extensive research in choosing an apartment when getting ready to move to Charlotte. I knew I wanted to be in Uptown, and the expansion and revitalization of the First Ward area around College and Tryon was really exciting. Finding The Ellis was the winner! I locked in an amazing floor plan, at an amazing price, with two free months of rent. The complex itself is very well maintained, the hallways are clean, it smells clean (that's a big deal for me), the amenities for both the Midrise and ...the Tower are incredible, and parking deck parking for only $25 a month. It is a secure and safe complex. When maintenance has to enter your apartment, management is always letting you know, and asking your permission. The maintenance team is fantastic. Always quick to respond, in person, at your apartment. They follow up to make sure things are taken care of, and are super friendly and explain what they're doing if you happen to be at home when they are there. Highly, highly recommend The Ellis to anyone wanting affordable Uptown living!Property Manager Responded

Convoluted application process and unsafe
April 11, 2022Just go elsewhere! I'm sure you can afford it and so could I. Trying to even reserve an apt at this place was a headache and the staff lacked empathy and actual reasons for why they wanted more information than mortgage lenders. This building is in an unsafe area with homeless lined up just on the adjacent street. There's also a loud hookah bar across the street and it stays open late. Multiple Tours
November 28, 2021I toured the high-rise studio and 1-bedroom apartment homes and they are beautiful with concrete construction between the ceilings and floors. The 33rd floor clubhouse with pool and commons areas is breathtaking. I also toured the mid-rise 1-bedroom apartment homes and I was impressed with the size of the unit. All in all I am excited to move-in and experience all this community has to offer on a daily basis.Property Manager Responded

July 6, 2021These people literally took my money and made it seem like I was moving into a place. Communication SUCKS! I moved out of my apartment in Columbia only to be told I was unable to move here after she was aware that I had no where else to go. Leasing management sucks at communicating. Lack of follow up and poor communication
