Decent, Affordable Building in Lively Family Neighborhood
July 21, 2015This is a large, post-war apartment building in Midwood, a family-friendly neighborhood in South Brooklyn. The apartments are quite large for the price that you pay (which is reasonable in itself compared to current Brooklyn rents), and many get updated with new kitchen cabinets and appliances after old tenants move out. (That's not the case for every apartment though). They have nice wood floors, plenty of closets (my one-bedroom apartment has four) and in many cases, decent-sized kitchens that ...are separated from the other rooms. One of the minor drawbacks is that some apartments only have windows facing the courtyard, so the views are not exactly breathtaking. But the building is well-maintained and the building staff is usually easily reachable and prompt to respond to requests for service. There is a laundry on the premises, an underground garage (for an additional fee) and plenty of grocery stores, pharmacies, delis and small restaurants around. The subway station is only four blocks away. This is not a hip neighborhood by any means as it's about a 45-minute subway ride away from Manhattan, but it's lively due to a large number of families living here, diverse and safe.
