Lots of historic charm, helpful staff, good tenants
September 1, 2025I'm glad that I chose the Gilmore Apartments. The historic building has lots of character, the location in Midtown is ideal, the staff are consistently kind and helpful, and there is a great mix of tenants. I feel safe living here and the gated parking lot is a good amenity. Keep in mind which side of the building you might live in because the sunset and the sunrise affect how much natural light you'll receive. Also, living at the intersection of McLean and Madison means there is a significant ...amount of street traffic, loud music, etc (I don't mind it too much, but there might be some people who are more sensitive to that sort of stuff).Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Residents all know each other and the staff makes sure it is a 5-star experience. August 6, 2025I am beyond grateful to call this Historic landmark the Gilmore my home. This Complex has stood the test of time for a Century!! Wow! Staff goes above and beyond in response and care. Tenants are friendly, respectful and welcoming. Our Fur Babies are our family too! Our Location is a vibrant neighborhood with a stone’s throw away for food, shops, or entertainment. July 27, 2025I’ve lived at The Gilmore for 4 year and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I could list all the great features and the vintage charm that makes this place special, but what I truly love is the sense of community. We see each other in the lobby, ride in the elevator together, and get to know each other. The tenants care about each other and about this historic building. July 24, 2025I love my apartment. It’s small but spacious. I love the big windows and the view I have. It’s walking distance to Overton Square which is great. Management is friendly. July 24, 2025I've loved living here. It is a great place for someone to start off in life when getting their 1st place as well. The historic charm of the building makes it unique. It is great for people who like to be out as well because it is walking distance from Midtown, Overton Square. The zoo and the park isn't far either. The rooftop deck at the apartment is a hidden gem with beautiful city views. It is pet friendly, has great neighbors, awesome in office workers and maintenance workers on site.
