Excellent Property Manager and Location!
February 18, 2025 - Review from Apartments.comLocated in the heart of Carmichael, within walking distance to stores and Carmichael Park, this apartment complex is excellent in price, value, and condition. I have to give special thanks to Valerie, the property manager, who takes care of any issues and is very nice and efficient. The old reviews you see online are from when they didn't have the right property management in place. I was extremely pleased with all the amenities and highly recommend The Hawthorne apartments.
Poor experience
April 2, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comRental company is unprofessional and there is poor communication among staff. I was told there were 3 apartments available, and I could tour one. I was on time to the tour and no one showed up or answered any of my calls. The leasing agent opened the office door and was confused, stating there were no units available to tour, questioning why I was there. Instead of apologizing for the situation, she still tried to sell me on renting an apartment here. No thank you.Property Manager Responded

I see all the amenities they list and I dont have any of them in my unit but i pay for them such as carpet that has been in the unit probably 10 yrs no hardwood floors. my sinks and tub all have big ugly chips and gouges in them. they put in dual pane windows but they do no good because the doorways are so drafty. They raise my ...rent every chance they get it has literally doubled since i moved in 7 years ago. If i could afford to move i would in a heartbeat. Add insult to injury someone has been parked in my parking spot for 3 days and I cant do anything about it because so called security wants to see 3 different documents from me just to prove who I am and which space is mine including my rental agreement which i haven't had a copy of for 5 years because i just would do it through the resident portal on the internet but that doesn't exist anymore because of another change in management companies which i cannot keep up with . I have never felt so ripped off in my life as i do with this place. do yourself a great favor and don't lower your standards like i did keep shopping for a nice place to live because The 'Thorne is not it just take it from me and spend your hard earned money somewhere else where they respect it and you because this place wont!!Read MoreProperty Manager Responded

July 30, 2020 - Review from Apartments.comThe work management is putting into this place is insane. New parking lot, new plants, laundry rooms were redone. The maintenance guy and manager are always nice and patient with all my questions. Area is quiet but close to everything.

March 19, 2020 - Review from Apartments.comOh where do I begin....water gets shut off at least once a month for several hours without notice. The management are never in the office. They do not take care of maintenance requests and offer no acknowledgment of your request at all. There is no security or groundskeeping what so ever. Homeless people roam freely day and night throughout the complex and in the laundry rooms. The outside lights are always not working. There is so much more but I think I made my point. TERRIBLE PROPERTY MANAGERS
November 12, 2019 - Review from Apartments.comI wish i could give this place no stars. Do your research before moving in here. My Fiance and I have been living in a 1 bed,1 bath apartment her since March 2019. I absolutely loved the previous management as they were willing to work with you and explain what was going on, they also kept things straight and in place. About a couple months ago a new Management team took over. They are terrible, they do not have customer service skills, don't get things done in a timely manner, don't explain ...things very well, always seem irritated when you go to talk to them, raised rents on the apartments when they definitely are not worth that much, and do the bare minimum for fixing. They had a security guard patrol the complex at night for about a week, then all of a sudden they were gone. Parking is a ridiculous price (went from $25-35), they said that no one could park in the parking lots for two days because they were fixing it. They did about 1-4 patches and it wasn't even done smoothly, they also allow people who do not pay for a spot to parking in the "No Parking" zone which is meant for handicap. June 17, 2019 - Review from Apartments.comI moved in this community about two months ago and absolutely love it. It’s pet friendly, and has a ton of grass. I can honestly say that I have yet to run into a pest issue, they have a pest control service that will come out if we ever need it anyways. I love that this community is tucked away and always gated.

June 10, 2019 - Review from Apartments.comI have been here since 2016, this complex is on its 3rd owner since 2016, about a month ago the county code officers came and did a mandatory inspection on all the units, due to numerous complaints to fair employment and housing. When i first moved here it was great other than one man being stabbed and killed in the laundry room (left side one not right) and a few homeless sleeping in the parking lot.. This didn't bother me too much cause its typically quiet here. i hate that they only have a ...wall ac and heater in the apartments cuz it cost more to run and is not effective, like for example today is 100 degrees outside and i have had my ac running since 6 this morning and my apartment is still 80 degrees inside. Vanessa was the old apartment manager, she was good about getting things taken care of however her bosses would only let her do so much... about 5 months ago i started seeing a ton of roaches outside in the parking lot, i assumed they were Beatles or something , but about 3 months ago i started seeing them everywhere! on the stairs, neighbors doors, ac units and even the walls. my apartment and all my items now have roaches, they keep sending people to spray and it isnt effective it just making my unit smell like chemicals.. this review is honest and not ment to bash managment, however if u have children especially babies i would not advise renting here, roaches are filthy and the chemicals they use to attempt to rid them are very harmful. In my 3 years here i met several neighbors and 8 out of 10 of them suffer from extreme roaches in there unit.Read More

March 9, 2019 - Review from Apartments.comI used to live there for six years if the same landlord is still there be aware she is nasty and unprofessional and the owners overcharge you for the same outdated apartments they had when I first live there .on top every other month there pipes burst leaving you without water be aware and Do NOT MOVE here you can get more bang for your buck in another apartment with more professional owners and landlord
