I never received my final account statement when I moved out. I dropped off the keys and a final utility bill check to the front office. When I contacted them a few days later to resolve any outstanding debt, I was told that I would be contacted but did not receive any letter, phone call, or email. A month ago I receive a letter from debt collectors saying that I owed a certain amount. I double check and saw that my check was cashed from when I moved out. The amount stated was incorrectly ...
reported to the credit collections agency. I notified the apartment complex and they said that they would send me a new revised final account statement and update the collections agency. This was a month ago and now it damaged my credit with the old amount showing. I was never given a chance to resolve this and I refused to pay the wrong amount when they had already taken money from me. I want this off of my credit report and compensation for the emotional distress that this situation has caused me. Small claims court here I come.
