The Lucerne Apartments

bedroom is only 640 sq.ft., two average size rooms with a single toilet but two showers and a tub. One small walk in closet and two even smaller closets for towels and coats. The kitchen has no space to store dishes but has a wine rack Low end granite countertops that are two tiered which make no sense and waste space. The studio apartments have larger kitchens and are probably the best option. The other options are the two bedroom plus media rooms and the three bedroom units of which there are only one per floor. The total lack of double sheet rock or sound insulation means that you can hear your neighbor's talking, walking or watching television as well as dogs that bark, toilets flushing, etc... very noisey building. If you live on the West side of the building you can add exterior noise to the already ridiculous interior noise. The bars on Lake ave get busy so the west parking lot has traffic until 2 am and it sounds like you have your windows open due to the low end windows and slider. Around 3am the bar empties then around 6:00 am the garbage truck comes and empties the dumpsters full of glass bottles and then empties the dumpster for the Lucerne and this action reverbs throughout the floors on the south west part of the building. The south side of the building is a little quieter if the bars follow the noise ordinance and shut off the music at midnight so it's tolerable. The northside is very quiet now because both bars are temporarily closed but cars drag race down Lucerne ave late at night. The best place to live is on the inside courtyard apartments, they are quiet. The pool closes at dusk even though it is lighted for night use. Parking inside is a premium. The gym is small and rarely used. Every month someone is either moving out or in. Very transient building... Poor ventilation and air exchange. Just a poorly constructed building in the wrong place...
