January 22, 2026We have lived here 1.5 years. Pros: - Location, location, location it’s a great plaza neighborhood to live in and near - The beauty & design of the apt - The grounds are beautiful & well kept Cons: -Safety: 2/5 stars (would not recommend for small children or single occupants) -this is the only place we’ve ever experienced a physical break in (we where home) - 3 significant large water leaks - NOT gated (loads of illegal street racing from midnight to 3 am) it’s very loud - there is a moving ...truck here (without legal tags) on it every 3 days all year long - loads of packages shipped TO other states end up here - building access security system is often offline and unFunctional - a previous tenant shipped his personal medicine to our apartment for 6 months multiple times a month and would randomly show up and want it - our mail was broken into twice -one of our roommates needs wheelchair access to our building and has a very hard time entering the buildingProperty Manager Responded

January 16, 2026With the exception of the office manager, the staff are unprofessional and incompetent. GreyStar removed the security gates at all entrances, so there is zero security now and the traffic through the community has increased making it noisy and loud. They began a renovation project in all the buildings, but because no one supervised it, half way through, the project was stopped because the wrong flooring was installed, so most of the buildings remain only half renovated. Sometimes the building ...doors break meaning they no longer lock, leaving the buildings unsecured and it can take weeks before they are fixed. Finally, the construction is such that there is no sound proofing, so everyone complains about hearing their neighbors above and below them.Property Manager Responded

Regarding the removal of the gates, we want to clarify that this decision was based on updated city requirements and code enforcement regulations. We did everything we could to keep them in place, but ultimately we were required to remove them to remain in compliance. We know this change has been frustrating but we hope the installation of five additional speedbumps throughout the community has helped decrease some of this traffic and noise. We also appreciate your comments about the hallway renovation project. The work has been fully overseen by our construction team from the start; however, once the originally planned flooring was installed, it became clear that due to the type of subfloor and the layout of the hallways, that flooring would not perform as intended. To ensure durability and long-term quality, we ...made the decision to switch to a more suitable flooring product. Paint and lighting upgrades have already been completed throughout the community, and the new flooring has been fully installed in several buildings, with the remaining buildings scheduled once the materials arrive. For building entry doors, we understand how important controlled access is and while we work closely with our vendors to complete repairs as quickly as possible, we are reviewing response times to ensure improvements are made where needed. Noise concerns can vary depending on building structure and location, and we encourage any resident experiencing ongoing disruptions to reach out to the courtesy officer and the on-site team so we can help identify possible solutions. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us make meaningful improvements for our residents. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts—we’re here to help in any way we can.

January 9, 2026I have had a great experience since moving into the Sawyer! They are professional, consistent in communications and always kind. We did have a few hiccups setting up our move in, and have still have issues logging into our portals and setting up the associated software's (ButterflyFX, etc) but they are receptive to helping! January 6, 2026I want to give this community a higher rating but unfortunately it is not like it used to be. I’ve lived here for 2 years now and it has gone down hill quick. With the gates being removed, having to dodge dog poop everywhere you walk, and “renovations” taking months over the estimated time frame (still not done/ haven't started in some buildings). I have to give this complex only 3 stars, especially with rent prices going up to as high as they are. I do however have to brag about the maintenance ...crew, they are always on top of whatever request you may have and are incredibly friendly! I was so hopeful going into my second year living here that it would be the same as the first because last year Sawyer would get 5 stars across the board, now, a generous 3.Property Manager Responded

November 24, 2025I am so tired of the fire alarms going off at insane hours in the buildingI live in. I have been here for less than a year and alarms have gone off at least four times - always between midnight and 3am!! This is a direct attack on our quality of life and mental well-being. At some point, we as tenants need to stop accepting this as normal and mobilize to demand that this insanity stops!!Property Manager Responded

We continue to make immediate repairs whenever an issue arises and are in regular communication with both the fire inspector and the fire department.
