Had to break my lease my grandmother died she left me a house so had to move in to it. I paid them two months rent and gave an advanced notice for leaving and they’re still going to charge me a fee for breaking the lease after I have paid them 5k for the last two months. I have a child on the way and they are constantly messaging me and harassing me about sending me to collections for the fee even though I have tried to explain to them my situation. I gave them 5k after I’ve been paying bills etc ...
and trying to save money for my daughter on the way at my current residency which I inherited. I got double the amount of bills dropped on me and they refused to work with me at all.

While we understand that circumstances can change unexpectedly, we are required to follow the terms of the legally binding lease agreement signed by each resident, including the provisions and associated fees for early termination. When you notified our team that you needed to end your lease approximately six months early, the applicable terms and fees were reviewed with you, and we also worked with you to establish a payment plan, which was accepted. Our intent is never to create hardship, but to apply the terms of our lease agreements consistently and fairly for all residents.
