The Nightmare You Can’t Escape
November 23, 2024If I could give zero stars, I would. Vance Street Flats is not just an apartment building—it’s a disaster zone masquerading as a place to live. From the moment you move in, you’ll be questioning your life choices and praying you make it out unscathed. Let’s start with the safety (or complete lack thereof). This place was the site of a shooting, and the shooter is STILL at large. Let that sink in. There was hair from the victim in the hall for weeks, and we’re all left wondering when the next ...incident will occur. As if this wasn’t bad enough, the noise is unbearable. The people above me stomp around like they’re hosting wrestling matches at all hours of the day and night. I haven’t had a full night’s sleep since I moved in. To add insult to injury, the walls are paper-thin, so I’m treated to slamming doors and children screaming and playing in the hallways as if they’re at a public playground. Pro-tip: invest in noise cancelling headphones. Or better yet, don’t move in at all. The cherry on top is the management’s complete incompetence. Complaints are ignored, and the building continues to deteriorate. Holes in walls, pee in the halls, and mystery substances on the stairs. The one maintenance guy tries his hardest but the combination of incompetent management, and nasty people, doesn't make it easy for him. I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and avoid Vance Street Flats like the plague, it’s a living nightmare.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
