Ok place to live, but...
August 1, 2017I had lived in Ventura Loft for almost 3 years and the first 2 years were fine, but how it was mentioned in previous posts office management changed every year and things got worse. I also would like to warn everybody before to agreeing to non-refundable deposit (approx. $138) which should be applied for cleaning and other stuff after you move out, however, it was just throwing money. After you move out they are expecting you to provide absolutely a new apartment without holes, scratches, spots ...and etc. I have 2 small kids and left small minor scratches on the wall which are fixed. They permitted us to hang curtains and pictures on the wall when we were moving in, now they are claiming the holes there. When I was notified about outstanding fee to be paid as a result of painting walls and etc., I requested them to provide pictures as an evidence; however, they didn't send any bills and pictures to me what they did…They sent information to collection company directly without letting me know. This is totally unprofessional and unacceptable approach…Property Manager Responded

Best place to live in Houston
July 2, 2017I did an extensive search looking for where to live in Houston relocating from Austin. I couldn't be happier with Ventura Lofts. Besides the obvious, beautiful property, loaded with amenities, the staff is fantastic. I am always hesitant will the hospitality rub off but all needs are addressed immediately. I am so glad recycling is encouraged here and the complimentary blue bags to recycle. The property will speak for itself so let me compliment my Leasing Agent Wendy, and since then all who ...I have personally interacted. More than once each - Anita the Property Manager, Bree the Assistant Property Manager, and Chase also Leasing Agent. December 14, 2015I have lived at Ventura for 20 months and am moving out as I am buying property. I would like to say a special thank you to the office staff, in particular Wendy. Wendy initially showed us around and helped with setting up our lease. She has been so helpful throughout my time at Ventura responding efficiently and quickly to any issues we have had. (In fact I now consider Wendy my friend). Bree also is very helpful although she is more back office staff, if the front staff are not available she ...will quickly help out. Thank you Wendy and Bree. The maintenance staff are excellent, so friendly and efficient. Always a smile and a good morning as you pass them. Rules change as you go along
May 8, 2014The complex had a change in management during my time there and the new manager has no respect for the law or a person's lease. She claims that she was enforcing policies already in place but there was no addendum in my lease for them. One amenity is the theater room, as well as a gym. She started a policy, without notice, that to use the theater after hours you must put up a 500.00 deposit. She said it was the rule all along but again, nothing in my lease and that was never mentioned to me. One ...morning I received a note on my door about the trash being placed in a bag outside the door. Again, I was given nothing that said to do anything but put it outside the door. Now I was facing a fine of $50.00 for putting the bag out instead of using the trash can. No warning of putting the rule into effect, just WHAM, here it is deal with it. I asked to move from a two bedroom to a one bedroom and the manager told me in front of other that even if she had a one bedroom she would not approve the move because she has too many two bedrooms empty. Lastly, I stupidly parked in a handicapped spot inside the gates. I have a sticker for the complex but am not handicapped. When I woke in the morning my car was gone. They towed it. No warning.
