I enjoyed Living Here
August 30, 2023I lived here for about 2 years between 2018 - 2020. It wasn't bad. Only complaints I could say are at night, there are quite a few skunks and possums that roam around. The laundry facility was not always the best or functional, but it served its purpose 90% of the time when I needed it. There was a period of water shutdowns that were happening from time to time that were a bit obnoxious. The surrounding area is fine, but be careful of your surroundings and don't park on the street, or if you do, ...don't leave anything valuable in your car. I never had a roach problem, but I recall my upstairs neighbor did. Throughout my stay, there were maybe 3 or 4 large bugs I ever had. I'm a relatively clean tenant. Also, don't have anything important mailed to your mailbox. There was constantly a problem with my mailbox being opened. I think there were issues with the lock, and those issues were never really fully addressed. Things that shipped to my door were fine, but the lockbox mailbox was always an issue. All in all, I only moved due to a personal matter. I'd still be living there to this day if the rent made sense, but if it's within your budget, I say go for it. The staff was accommodating any time I interacted with them.Property Manager Responded

ROACH INFESTED!!!!!!!WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Management & Corporate do nothing about it.Corporate will more than likely reply to this review but failed to reply to my email which makes a lot of sense . People from the opposite side of the complex even complain about it being roach infested . Save your money don’t move here .Review from Apartments.com
Unsafe. Money-grubbing management
September 20, 2018Despite being a gated community, the gates are often broken and thus left wide open for days at a time. My car was broken into once and I had a stereo stolen. I've talked to other residents and some of them have also reported having their cars broken into. I've had multiple Amazon packages cut open and their contents stolen from my doorstep. I don't order any expensive items from Amazon anymore because of this. I've seen men with ankle monitors hanging around the pool, which makes me feel unsafe ...to be around. Definitely not a suitable place if you have children. As for the management, they'll take every chance they can get to take money from you. I initially signed on as an additional tenant in a 4-person apartment. They asked me to pay a $40 'administrative fee' to process my application. I've lived in 2 other apartments before Windwood and none of them have asked me for this. When I switched my status to the 'main' leaser, they asked for another $40! Absolutely ridiculous. I will definitely be finding new accommodation once my lease ends.Property Manager Responded

Clean and Convenient!
September 26, 2015This is a wonderful residence within easy walking distance of a lot of great stores, interesting restaurants and the UCR campus. The residences are well kept and the landscaping, which is maintained weekly, is full of lush trees that make it easy to forget your proximity to the highway. The residents and staff have been incredibly friendly and there are public events hosted every month -- movie screenings, coffee breaks and more! -- that help tie the community together and instill a sense of ...friendliness among neighbors. Wonderful Living Space
August 21, 2015Windwood Apartments are great apartments for students and families. Windwood is down the street from UCR and within ten minutes your on campus. (that's walking time, which is GREAT). Windwood also has a CARES program that offers you so connect with your neighbors and they hold 2-3 events a month free at cost for residents. Parking is never a issue for you and for guest. August 15, 2015I currently live in Windwood Apartments in Riverside, California and I absolutely LOVE it here. I like how I am walking distance to UCR and I am there within 10 minutes. Office management is AWESOME. They are always so friendly, helpful, and caring. Maintenance team is fast responding and always handle problems in a quickly manner. The apartments have a program called the CARES TEAM, were the team sets up events for the residents, totally free. Typically 2-3 events a months. My daughter and I ...love the events that they plan, always so welcoming and we get to meet and socialize with neighbors. I totally recommend Windwood Apartments to anyone that ask. Fun community with free events
August 15, 2015Windwood has a CARES Team that throws three fun events on property every month - this has been a great way to meet our neighbors and eat free food. A short walk from UCR. Gated community. Plenty of parking for guests (guest pass required). Property is very well maintained and the maintenance team is quick to fix anything in the apartment. Staff communication is difficult sometimes (paperwork has been lost) but they seem to genuinely care about resident satisfaction.
