About Winston Factory Lofts

Originally built in 1920 by the P. H. Hanes Company for textile manufacturing, we converted these majestic industrial buildings into 171 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes. Construction involved all new mechanical and fire alarm systems; roof, skylight and window replacement; restoration of the façade; new main entrance foyer accessing a new lobby and lounge. We introduced contemporary architectural features throughout while preserving the attractive historic character of the buildings. Our design has more amenities than any other downtown apartment community and more than virtually all of the condo projects in Winston-Salem.     • One word: noisy

      These apartments are loud. The train is loud, the other tenants are loud, and there is NO insulation between floors. You can hear everything in the neighboring units. I’m not exaggerating when I say you can hear a pin drop from above or beside you. Living here has been awful.

      Anytime I have had ANY maintenance issues, the guys are here that day to fix it. I feel like royalty! Daniel is always cheerful and professional, and he can fix anything that needs it like a boss. That level of service makes living here—which is already a delight—that much nicer!

      The location is fantastic, right in the heart of a growing social/arts/nightlife scene in downtown Winston-Salem. The apartments themselves are very nice - typical for what you would expect from converted factory-style lofts. Beyond that, the staff is incredibly responsive and proactive in ensuring that tenants are happy with their experiences.       This place is awesome I love the history of the building. I love that it has a space for my Great Dane to run. I love the modern touches mixed with the old charm, lots of closet space, a great clubhouse area, and the fact that water, sewer and cable trash pickup is included is just gravy!

      Winston Factory Lofts are located perfectly for those who wants to be close to everything. It's a huge plus to be walking distance from everything downtown as well as a short drive away from work or school. The buildings are nicely renovated factories, which gives you a modern industrial feel. It has all the amenities you could want, 2 (!) great gyms, pools, resident lounges, pet parks and even a private theater. Staff is wonderful, maintenance handled quickly and frequent resident events ...
