For Atlanta-based apartmentites, the weekends never seem to arrive early enough. This is, after all, 'Hot-lanta', home to passionate, fiery women and suave, cool men. When the two collide watch the sparks fly, and if you happen to be at the Leopard Lounge you had better be wearing your best flame-retardant skirt. The city's self-described 'finest non-pretentious dance club', the Lounge does the seemingly impossible by living up to this lofty goal. The dress code is sleek and intended to impress of course, but the crowd thankfully leans more towards the 'big night out' faction rather than the popped-collar and 8 lb Rolex-donning sleazebags that seem to dominate the bridge and tunnel joints. Like any good dance club, this Leopard is apt to chance its spots depending on the night. Three separate rooms and genre themes ensure a booty-shaking good time for all, although the overall groove is definitely on the Prince-side of sexy. Some basic food is available, but who has time to eat when there are pulsing lights to groove under and stone fireplaces to examine. Early birds beware though - the Leopard doesn't get pounding until close to midnight, and they are fittingly dark during the week aside from peak nights of Thursday through Saturday.
