Home to about 10K residents and located just northeast of Atlanta, this is one charming city well worthy of consideration."
Initially a farming community, the addition of a railroad stop and post office lead to the incorporation of Chamblee in 1907. Camp Gordon, a military center in the area, acted as a hub during the first world wars, and by the 1960s a number of industries called the region home, including a new nearby General Motors plant. Chamblee experienced some revitalization of its downtown scene in the early 2000s, a trend that continues today.
Winters are mild, although summer tends to be lengthy and hot. Spring brings with it the rains, yielding plenty of floral magic, and autumn is generally quite pleasant and highlighted by crisp, cool evenings.
A majority of Chamblee apartment residents depend upon a personal automobile for getting around town, although taxis are commonplace and bicycling has experienced an upswing in popularity as well. Peachtree Airport is the primary airport in the vicinity, offering numerous domestic flights on a daily basis.
The city proper is generally free of traffic snarls, with I-85 and I-285 acting as the major roadways to and from Chamblee.
