As many apartment-ites know, pubs in Atlanta are a dime a dozen, or at least, dives bars or clubs calling themselves pubs are. The problem is, few of them capture that true, authentic feel of a real Irish bar. Atlanta apartment residents need not fear, however, for there is always Limerick Junction, a real, authentic Irish pub, from the real Irish road signs that litter the walls, to the authentic UK cuisine, to the Irish musicians that make their way to the pubs main stage. You're not likely to have a more authentically Irish experience in this great city. Part of what makes an Irish pub a real Irish pub is the cuisine, and at Limerick Junction, they get that dead on. Old favorites like Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash make the menu, as well as Dublin's Beef Stew and Irish Breakfast, which consists of a banger (sausage), a rasher (slice of bacon), eggs, baked beans, grilled tomato, potato wedges and toast. If you want something more strictly American, they have a fine selection of burgers, from their traditional angus burger, made with a half-pound of only the best angus beef, or the Irish burger, topped with a ranger and white cheddar. They also have a fresh, crisp salads, soups, and a wide array of appetizers, including the Limerick Egg, their take on the traditional Scotch dish, Guinness-glazed wings, Irish soda bread, or their Irish sliders, mini-burgers topped with white cheddar, tomato and leeks. Beer is an important part of what makes any pub sing, and at the Junction, they've got everything you could want. On tap, you can get British favorites such as Guinness, Harp or Smithwicks, or other international favorites such as Hoegaarden, Molson and Stella Artois. The varieties only increase when you move to bottled drinks, from Newcastle, to Boddingtons, to Red Stripe, even Tetley's English Ale. Beer connoisseurs will find anything they could need here, and might even find some surprises. Many places may call themselves pubs, but this place is the real deal. Apartment-ites searching Atlanta from some authentic Irish flavor need look no further, for Limerick Junction is sure to satisfy all your culinary needs.
