This was the spot where the 1996 Olympic Games was held. It was the vision of CEO Billy Payne to revive this downtown park for this event. This 21-acre park, opens daily from 7:00AM to 11:00PM and is absolutely free to the public. The must see areas of the recreational site are the The Fountain of Rings, Water Gardens, Children's Garden and Playground, and Quilt Plazas. Centennial Olympic Park offers weekly entertainment like Music At Noon, and Wednesday WindDown. Also, every fourth Saturday the park offers free admission to Family Fun Days. Holiday events are held here also, 4th of July Celebration and Holiday in Lights. If walking is your thing, take time to see the beautiful landscaping thoughtout the park. There is plenty of daylight left so get your walking shoes on and see more than the view from your Atlanta apartment balcony.
