Explore Atlanta
How long has it been since you explored the area outside your Atlanta apartment? It is about time to get out of your sweet pad and go sight seeing to some of the beautiful parks to get some fresh air. Head to midtown first to check out Piedmont Park. Before it was a public park it was first a Gentlemen's Driving Club and horse racing area only, but in 1904 the City of Atlanta purchased Piedmont Park and over time they built tennis courts, Clara Meer Lake, a golf course (closed 1979) and The Park Drive Bridge. Then in 1976 the city of Atlanta leased an area of the grounds to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Every Saturday the park hosts the Green Market where local farmers sell produce, cheese, flowers, and "natural merchandise". The visitors center and Magnolia Hall provide rental space and catering services for weddings, and parties. The park is open from 6:00AM to 11:00PM. Head to Piedmont Park and become a true explorer outside of your Atlanta apartment today. You will not regret it!
