Sometimes you just want to be another face in the crowd, and tonight is one of them. No hyper dance floors, no neon art deco and $11 martinis, and definitely no country line dancing - you are just looking to get out of your apartment for a while and toss back a few. Presumably named by someone content to just look out the window at the nearest street sign, the Anderson Mill Tavern (on Anderson Mill Road, in case you were wondering!) is an ideal stop for some incognito downtime. Don't expect too many frills at the Anderson Mill, but hey, that's kind of the point right? Beer, mid-level liquor, and high-level bartenders are the establishment's stock and trade (and by high-level we are judging on the cuteness scale, so don't bank on any Cocktail-style juggling). The regulars are the mixed bag you'd expect from a strip mall bar, but the Tavern's laid-back vibe is contagious and welcoming. The non-smoking ordinance is seemingly little more than a suggestion judging from the cloudy atmosphere, and $1 Jello shots can be found in a rainbow of flavors every Wednesday for those that want a little vodka with their dessert. And who doesn't want that?
