Austin is a great town in which to inhabit an apartment! Partly because of its fresh local music scene, but what club can get you the best local music all in one place? While many clubs may boast that they have all the best live, local bands, one venue that delivers on that promise in spades is Red Eyed Fly. Red Eyed Fly bleeds local from the outdoor stage that features mainly local bands to the jukebox indoors which is full of local artists. The focus on local is refreshing when so many of the other venues book national touring acts over the small town boys and girls. Red Eyed Fly gives you the opportunity to go see some of the best of what Austin has to offer and almost every night has a band that was raised right here in the heart of Texas. Another thing that makes this venue different than so many others is that instead of the usual indoor stages, which have a tendency to get stuffy and claustrophobic when the large crowds set in, Red Eyed Fly's stage is outside on their covered patio. This allows for you to look up at the stars and feel a nice breeze on your skin while still listening to some of Austin's best bands. It's a great break from the confines of a night in at the apartment. The bar is well-tended with plenty of drink specials and bartenders who know how to make a great drink. The inside bar has the usual bar games and plenty of seating. The bar outside opens in case of bigger shows, allowing you to enjoy the band, enjoy the cool night air, and enjoy a nice beer all at the same time. For a real taste of what the Austin music scene is all about, Red Eyed Fly is one that can't be missed. As local as they come with great drink specials and a hip attitude, this is one club that all Austin Apartment-ites should be sure to visit.
