"Italian food is one cuisine that gets overlooked by many Baton Rouge apartment-ites, but there are several places around town serving up delicious Italian meals right under your noses. One of the best of these many Italian places would have to be D'Agostino Restaurant, serving up their European favorites with a definite cajun kick. Delicious pasta dishes, fantastic seafood and a splendid selection of wine make this a top choice for a night out, especially if you want to impress some lady or gentleman. To start things off, you can try one of their appetizers, salads or soups, including, their special D'Agostino Bread, seafood arancini, escargot, toasted ravioli, fried calamari, or their fried eggplant, six onion soup, lobster bisque or gumbo, or grilled asparagus and prosciuto, Mediterranean, Capreses, or their special Sensation salads. Moving on to their main courses, there are a number of delicious dishes to please almost any pallet. For fans of the beef, they have their center cut filet, filet Oscar, ribeye, or the filet Maytag, or you can try their veal piccata, veal Oscar, veal bolognese fettucine, or their veal and chicken Parmesan. For those wanting some delicious pasta dishes, they have a wide variety for you to take in. They excel at traditional favorites, such as baked lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and eggplant Parmesan, but also knock it out of the park with more original dishes, such as their seafood canoli, roasted portabella ragu, or their eggplant and spinach manicotti. Seafood fans also have a variety to choose from, including shrimp in lobster cream, stuffed lobster tail, sesame crusted tuna, redfish Imperial, fish Almondine, Third Street redfish, Fish Limone and Fish Meuniere. Make sure to stay for dessert, so you can try their delicious bread pudding, homemade cannoli, Frangelico mousse, strawberry cheesecake, and even a scrumptious tiramisu. This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as flavors go, so you'll have to visit and try them all out for yourself.
