One place absolutely brimming with opportunities to explore the outside world is the McWane Science Center. With hands-on exhibits and plenty of educational opportunities, the McWane Science Center is one stop that every science fan, or just anyone who wants to learn more about the world outside of their Birmingham apartment, needs to discover. With four floors full of fascinating and fun exhibits, there's no end to the entertainment and educational opportunities this museum can provide. One of the most fun and popular of the exhibits at the McWane Science Center is the Alabama Dinosaur section, which features the bones of many large, ferocious dinosaurs who once walked the land you now live in. Another fun exhibit is the Animation Station, where kids will be able to make their own stop motion animated movies, and watch them with all of their friends. Fun time can also be had at the Lights and Lasers Exhibits, featuring a Laser Harp, which feature lasers instead of strings, playing like a real harp, the Laser Depot, where you can play around with the way the light changes images, the Strobe String, which shows the way that strobe lights allow you to see faster things at a more manageable speed, and the Strobe Fan, which shows lights affect on a spinning disk. In addition, there's also a large, dome-roofed IMAX theater for taking in the 3-Dimensional movies on a five-story tall screen, letting you really feel like you're right in the middle of the action. This is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to just how much there is to see and explore at this museum, and you'll just have to come and by and experience it for yourself if you wish to find out more. Kids, adults, teenagers, it doesn't matter who you are, you'll find something to delight you at the McWane Science Center.
