Fresh fish is a must in downtown Boston, and you will certainly find the freshest in town at Legal Sea Foods, a classic restaurant that has only grown in popularity in the last 60 years in business. The incredible fish is served in quite imaginative and delicious ways, with a wood grill for tasty swordfish and tuna, and an incredible batter for the fried shrimp and clams. Start your meal off right with a bowl of New England Clam chowder, or the Blackened Raw Tuna Sashimi, then indulge in a classic Caesar Salad topped with fresh Lobster. The succulent seafood menu is enticing, with choices like the Signature Crab Cakes, Double Stuffed Baked Shrimp, or the Nutty Wild Salmon. Or, just choose your fish - tuna, bluefish, rainbow trout or seven others - wood grilled - or a few of them, crispy fried. The incredible side dishes of jasmine rice, seaweed salad or jalapeno cheddar polenta will round out the entree. And if you bring a big appetite, you can enjoy one of the fabulous desserts, or maybe just share it. The home made ice cream is delightful. It is a very busy place, so not the best destination to bring your date that you met at the apartment pool. The prices for individual meals are in the $25 range, and that doesn't include appetizer, dessert or drinks, so plan to bring a Ben Franklin to cover a meal for two if you do it right. At the core of Legal Sea Foods is their mission for quality, with a code of ethics, a culture of kindness to guests, and to be an industry leader. They have certainly show their capacity to attain the various awards over the years with fine, fresh seafood and friendly service. Their motto is "If it isn't fresh, it isn't legal." Other locations besides the downtown location exist, so if your apartment is outside of Boston proper, see if a Legal Sea Foods is near you.
