Who doesn't like a good ghost story now and again? There's nothing like an eerie tale to send shivers down your spine, preferably a classic by the likes of Poe or Lovecraft. Apparently, the owners behind popular Chicago eatery N9NE are no strangers to the genre, as their new club Ghost Bar is a veritable living tribute to all things haunted. From the frosted glass walls that dictate the ebb and flow of the space, to the sharp green couches lurking in the corners, Ghost Bar emits an effortless level of steely cool and spectral ambiance. One half expects Lloyd from "The Shining" to greet you from behind the emerald backlit silver crescent bar, where specialty cocktails such as the house chocolate raspberry martini are served to perfection. Young professionals in sharp clothes make up the bulk of the crowd at this after-hours haunt; the $9-plus libations are sure to scare many away, although if you can foot the bill there's a chance you might rub shoulders with famous nightstalkers like Lisa Marie Presley or Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan. Weekends are especially lively at Ghost Bar, as hot young things go bump in the night well past the witching hour, so plan to get there by 11 p.m. lest thee be forced to roam the moors of a lesser club.
