This cozy tavern is a delight to visit, especially if you are a beer lover. And even if you're not, you can meet your Cleveland apartment buddies here after work or to hang out on the weekend. In addition to the great beer selection, they have a full bar and offer a great plate of barbecue and burgers as well. The goal of Winking Lizard is "to be the tavern of choice to eat, relax and enjoy." To do this, their mission includes excellent food and beverage, great service, awesome atmosphere and great staff. The restaurant carries this out with style at each tavern (there is more than one in the Cleveland area), and if you ever have a complaint, be sure to tell them so they can please you and the next customer. The World Tour at Winking Lizard is an adventure to sample 150 beers in bottles and draft, via tracking on your own and through a high tech electronic "Tour Card. Started in 1985 with only forty beers to sample from around the world, the emphasis now is more than just worldly beers but also different styles of beer. To join the tour, you'll need to visit your favorite Winking Lizard Tavern, give the bartender $10.00 and begin your adventure into the world of craft and imported beers. You'll receive a full color Guidebook, a wallet card to keep track of the beers you try, and the fancy dancy Tour Card that electronically keeps track of the Tour beers you finish. You get to drink the beers in any order. By the end of the year there will have been more than 150 beers available to try. Lots of fun prizes exist for this funky tour, like a collapsible folding chair and a World Tour jacket vest, plus invitations to social events, such as beer and food tasting parties, golf outings, field trips, and more. You may not be up to participating in the World Tour, but they have a pretty good happy hour. In addition, each month they have a "beer of the month" and usually you get to keep the glass when you order the beer. Winking Lizard is highly recommended to show off your beer knowledge to those other Cleveland apartment-ites. Prices for food and drink are reasonable, with most meals under $10, free parking in a nearby lot, major credit cards accepted, and late hours during the week (until 1 am Monday through Thursday and Saturday), and open Friday until 2 am. Winking Lizard also provides carry out, party pack and does off-site catering. What are you doing for the game this week?
