Glendale, NY is in Queens County. Nestled in New York City, it’s an upper-middle-class neighborhood with a population of just under 40,000 residents. Shott was given Fresh Ponds as a debt repayment in 1860. He renamed it Glendale after his hometown in Ohio. Nine years later, a real estate agent bought property in the area and called it Glendale too. He took things a step further by laying out streets and dividing the property into 469 lots.

Most of the year it’s partly cloudy. It’s always best to be prepared during the summer months with an umbrella, but for the most part, July and August can get really hot.

When trying to get around the city or go to nearby locations, depending on where you live, a car would be a good idea. Queens is huge, so it’s a lot of ground to cover. Many residents of Glendale go shopping on Fifth Avenue, go to events at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Central Park, go on a water tour and see the Statue of Liberty, and more. With the proximity of so many states near the area, there is always something to do and see.
