Located near Lindley, it is situated close to single-family homes and apartments. The entire area is relaxed and inviting, which is not usually what you'd expect near a school. This university extension is also close to Tate Street and all its shops and restaurants, making it a nice place to study for those who also like to hang out with friends and go out after class.

College Hill

College Hill is Greensboro's oldest neighborhood, so you're going to see plenty of single-family homes along with historic buildings, student apartments, and more. You'll be close to Lindley Park and the Spring Garden Street cafes, where many students sit and work during the day. This is a charming area with a lot to offer students and professionals alike.

Lindley Park is located near Wendover Avenue and Interstate 40, so it gives you great access into and out of the city. It is also close to the Lindley Park Farmers Market, for those who enjoy buying local goods.

North Carolina A&T State University

North Carolina A&T State University is perhaps best known for its agricultural and engineering programs, and it is the largest historically Black university in the United States. It's east of downtown Greensboro, located off Spring Garden Street and Interstate 40. It is well-known for its programs in the arts, education, and business, and its centralized location means it's just minutes from Weatherspoon Art Museum.

East Market Street

Being close to school is easy if you choose to live on East Market Street. This area stretches between Florida Street and Murrow Boulevard, and it has plenty of student apartments. You can use the GTA Transit Center to get bus access in this part of the city, and you'll be within walking distance to A&T's Aggie Stadium (perfect if you're into sports).

Warnersville

Guilford College

Guilford College was founded in 1837 and is a small liberal arts school. The campus there is beautiful, with classic brick buildings and streets lined with trees. The 340-acre wooded campus sits along the city's west side; there is plenty of green space for students who enjoy the outdoors.

Friendly Lakes

You'll find Friendly Lakes located near Pisgah Church and Lake Jeanette Road. Here, you're close to Country Park and Battleground Avenue shops and restaurants, making it a nice place to live if you want some walkability and to be close to things you want to do. Friendly Lakes is also close to Highway 220, making it easy to get out of town when necessary.

Adams Farm

Adams Farm is located just off Interstate 40, connecting it with easy access outside the area. If you're an outdoorsy person, you may appreciate this area because it is settled into nature. The apartments are often near ponds and walking trails, and you'll also be able to get over to the Wendover Place Shopping Cneter within just about 5 to 10 minutes. Adams Farm is approximately 10 minutes from campus.

Starmount Forest

For those looking for an upscale place to call home, Starmount Forest could be a good option. It is surrounded by Holden Road and Friendly Avenue. There, you'll see there are many golf courses and luxury apartments; it's a good place for business professionals and grad students as a result. You can take Bryan Boulevard to downtown from this area, and it's also close to the Starmount Forest Country Club, if you're hoping to join a country club in Greensboro.

Bennett College

Interestingly, Bennett College is a private women's college. Located in the center of Greensboro, it has a strong history of supporting women. Located along East Washington Street, it's near Greensboro History Museum and Interstate 40 and 85, positioning it well for people coming into or going out of the city.

Southside

Southside is bordered by Elm and Lee Street. This area is historical, meaning there are some homes with beautiful architecture throughout. Greensboro College is a small, private college located next to the UNCG. It has a charming campus and is located close to many of the things students enjoy doing, like going to the shops on Tate Street. There is easy downtown access from this area, and it's simple to catch a bus to go anywhere in the city. This is a centralized location, positioning you well for life during and after college (if you choose to stay in the area).

Westerwood

Westerwood is a neighborhood tucked between West Friendly Avenue and Elm Street. This is an artsy area that has plenty of natural spaces, so it's good for those who like to spend time outdoors. From Westerwood, it takes just a few minutes to get to Battleground Avenue and Lake Daniel Park.

Fisher Park

Fisher Park is one of the original historic districts of Greensboro. Personally, I enjoy driving through this area because it's very peaceful and has that classic kind of appearance that you only get in the original states of the Union. Fisher Park is very close to Interstate 40 Business Route, which means it's good if you have to work and attend school. It is also a quiet area, which makes it popular among faculty and students alike.

College Hill

College Hill has already made it on this list, but here again we can talk about how it's so close to major veins in the city. It connects with Walker Avenue, Spring Garden Street, and Lee Street (better known as Gate City Boulevard). With that kind of connection, it's easy to go downtown or out of town, depending on where you need to be.
